
Mass social work in Kohima for monsoon preparedness
KOHIMA, JUNE 7 (MExN): In an effort to prepare for the upcoming monsoon season, the Kohima District Disaster Management Authority organised a mass social work event across Kohima town. The initiative aimed to clean and clear all clogged drains in the area to ensure the smooth flow of rainwater. The event saw the participation of various district offices in Kohima, in collaboration with Kohima Municipal Council (KMC). Participants, equipped with necessary tools and items, worked to clear the drains and remove blockages. The departments also provided vehicles and machinery for efficient garbage collection and disposal. All garbage collected during the social work was properly disposed of at the KMC dumping site.
MKg DC on blasting of stone for road widening
Mokokchung, June 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji has informed that the granting of a blasting permit to JKM Infra Works LLP of Guwahati, Assam has been authorised to conduct blasting of stone for widening of road at the construction site of two-lane road. The construction site spans between DEF Police Church to Yisemyong at NH-61 (New NH 02) in the Angetyong Tzu River area. The blasting activity is scheduled to take place on June 11 between the hours of 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm with the following terms and conditions: the contractor will ensure safety and security of the life and property of public using the road, the company should follow all the relevant rules of the explosives Act/ Rule, 2008; JKM Infra works LLP will be responsible for any damage of life and property, and this permit shall remain valid for June 11.
CTC on obtaining permit for display of advertisements
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, JUNE 7 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) has noted that several individuals, organizations, business establishments and government departments display their advertisements within its jurisdiction without permission or obtaining permit from the office which is against the Municipal Act 2023. In this connection, the CTC, in an order, has directed all concerned to take permission from the office of the CTC before displaying any kind of advertisement (s), failing which defaulters would be penalized as per provisions of the law.
CTC directs R/O plant operators
CHÜMOUKEDIMA, JUNE 7 (MExN): The Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) has directed all the R/O plant operators under its jurisdiction to get certification from the designated Food Safety Officer, Office of the Chief Medical Officer Dimapur with regard to water quality and submit the original copy to the office on or before July 7, failing which, the respective plant will be deemed illegal and trade license shall be cancelled. In this connection, an order issued by ADC and Administrator, CTC, Dr Kuzonyi Wideo has requested the concerned Food Safety Officer to depute official (s) for collection of water samples on receipt of application from the proprietor of the plants within CTC area.
NSCN/GPRN (Khango) discharges one
Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): As per the Discharge order released from the Chief Secretary dated June 5, Shompu of Zangkham village has been discharged from Naga National service on ground of health issue. The NSCN/GPRN (Khango) appreciated and acknowledged the service rendered by him and further wish him a very best and success in his future endeavour, the MIP, NSCN/GPRN (Khango) stated in a press release.
Wokha village Council resolves on ULB election
WOKHA, JUNE 7 (MExN): The Wokha Village Council has adopted a set of resolutions relating to the upcoming Urban Local Bodies election 2024 scheduled on June 26. It resolved that no intending candidates will be allowed to take the name of Wokha village or act on its behalf to campaign and woo voters in any form within colonies. It warned of stern action against those carrying out such activities by the village council. It resolved that no members from Wokha village, either individual or in groups would be allowed to indulge in any activities for ULB election within Wokha town colonies except those having names in the electoral list in their respective colonies. It also pledged to abide by the Clean Election principles during the ULB election within Wokha town.
