TR Zeliang mourns 

Kohima, June 4 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang today mourned the sudden demise of Zheseto Swu, former president of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) in an unfortunate incident yesterday. “He was a good friend of mine and we were well acquainted for the past many years. He was even part of my election campaign rally during the 2018 state general election,” Zeliang stated in a condolence message received here. “I will continue to fondly cherish his friendship, and kind, compassionate and charismatic personality in the days to come,” the Deputy Chief Minister stated adding that “His untimely demise is a great loss for the Sumi community in particular and the Nagas in general.” His immense contribution to the growth of society will remain as his legacy for all times to come, Zeliang added.

WTBC Youth Ministry conducts choral celebration 

Wokha, June 4 (MExN): The Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTBC) Youth ministry conducted an evening service and ‘WTBC Sing’ a choral celebration led by Dr Renthungo Merry who serves as a music teacher at Frontier Academy and a music director at Grace Church, Greeley United States.
Dr Renthungo Merry is a doctorate in music from University of Northern Colorado. He shared a message to the congregation during the choral celebration expressing that he felt that he has been neglecting his people, Wokha the place where he grew up as a child. He said that God uses people in different professions and according to him as a music teacher he praises God through hymns reminding that every song reflects the power of the cross, the love of God.
He told the congregation to stay hungry for the word of God; share the message; share his love; and hate sin. He also appreciated the parents of the choral members expressing that they all are amazing despite a two days rehearsal; it was a powerful performance, he added.
Hundreds of believers attended the choral celebration conducted at Mother Church, WTBC.

ANTA Pungro resolves on ‘one govt one tax’

DIMAPUR, JUNE 4 (MExN): The All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) Pungro Sub-Unit held a meeting on June 3, where it was where mutually agreed to consent to the ‘One Government One Tax’ resolution made by ACAUT Nagaland on October 31, 2013, and the joint declaration letter number ANTA/VS/2022 at Zunheboto. A press release from the ANTA Sub-Unit Pungro said that it will stand firm with the above resolution. The house unanimously decided to cooperate and stand as one body of the ANTA. The meeting was attended by taxi owners and taxi drivers with ANTA officials

HSTUK new team announced

Kohima, June 4 (MExN): The High School Traders Union Kohima (HSTUK) has announced its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2023-2025. The new team comprises of President, Kezha Miachieo; Vice President, Aphreo Kratsütsu; General Secretary, Thejangulie Linyü; Treasurer, Kevitatuo Kesiezie; Finance Secretary, Kekhrie Kelio; Information & Publicity Secretary, Khriezo Tsiekha; Action Committee Convener, Zeu Suokhrie; and Committee Members Seyie Dzüvichü and Keneizhalie Mere. Diethonguzo Miachieo and Kevisetuo Suokhrie have been inducted as Advisors.

Sumi Hoho condoles

DIMAPUR, JUNE 4 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho has expressed sadness at the sudden demise of late Zheshito Swu, Akükau, GB of Kiyevi village and former President of the Western Sümi Hoho. A press release from the Sümi Hoho said that “Zheshito Swu was an upright, courageous and dynamic leader who worked tirelessly for our people. His demise has left a big vacuum in our society which will be hard to fill in a long time to come. His sincere contributions for our people shall always remain with us and our people will fondly remember his leadership.” “We pray that our almighty God grants solace to the bereaved family and also pray that the departed soul rest in peace,” it added.
