Mao Market, MM building unsafe for human occupation

Kohima, March 10 (MExN): In view of the fire incident that broke out on February 27 at Mao Market and MM Market, Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DDMA Kohima, Shanavas C IAS “by virtue of the powers vested in him under Disaster Management Act, 2005; Section 34, clause (c)” informed all concerned and general public that the Mao Market and MM Market/building is unstable and unsafe for human occupation. The order issued through the DIPR also stated that anybody found violating the office order will be convicted as per Disaster Management Act, 2005, Section 51, Clause (b). The order will come into force with immediate effect.

Sümi Hoho condemns 

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): The Sümi Hoho has condemned the incident miscreants attempted to barge into the residence of Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Tokheho Yepthomi at Naharbari, Dimapur and fired on the night of March 6 at around 11:00 pm. “Such instances of life attempts and gun culture in our society are unwelcomed and condemned which should be completely eradicated from our society,” the hoho stated in a press release. It also urged upon the law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned to identify and apprehend the culprits. Further, Sümi Hoho has cautioned “any individual or group not to use the name of the tribe in the social media that tarnishes the image of the tribe unless the tribal apex bodies decide so in the larger interest of the tribe.” 

Nuklutoshi is NPP LP leader

Kohima, March 10 (MExN): As per the instruction of National People’s Party (NPP) national president and proposal of NPP Nagaland, Nuklutoshi Longkumer has been approved as the leader of NPP Legislature Party and Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso as the chief whip of the party in the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The approval was done through the instruction of the NPP national president Conrad K Sangma, according to NPP national general secretary (organization) Thomas A Sangma. Nuklutoshi Longkumer and Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso got elected from 22 Arkakong Assembly Constituency and 9th Kohima Town Assembly Constituency respectively in the recent state general election held on February 27.

Night curfew reinforced Sivasagar-Nagaland border belt

Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced night curfew from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM in the 5 km belt on the Assam side of Sivasagar district bordering Nagaland state with effect from January 25, for a period of 60 days.

According to State DIPR release received here on Friday, ADM, Sivasagar in an order said the night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent the occurrence of anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities coming across the Assam /Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district. ADM, Sivasagar said movement of any person/ group of persons/any vehicular traffics has been prohibited during the period of night curfew.

However, Magistrates, Security personnel of the Army/CRPF/Police, and civil officials deployed on duty have been exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
