
ASTD appeals on Old Naga Cemetery maintenance
Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): with regard to the implementation of the project of maintenance and safeguarding of the Old Naga Cemetery at Lake View Colony, Dimapur by the Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD), a meeting was held between the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) and ASTD on March 1. Following the meeting, the ASTD has appealed and informed to all concerned individuals or parties whose family members or relatives are being laid to rest at the Old Naga Cemetery to make it convenient to reach out to the ASTD help desk. A press release from the ASTD informed that the help desk will be set up from March 4 for a period of 15 days at the Prayer House, Old Naga Cemetery “to share any concerns from your end or inclusions to be made as the ASTD will take up the proposed project to redevelop the Old Naga Cemetery and transform it into a more resourceful place in the days to come.”
BAC meeting on March 9
Kohima, March 3 (MExN): Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Chairman of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), Sharingain Longkumer has convened a meeting of the BAC on March 9 at 11:00 am in the Committee Room, Assembly Secretariat to finalize the Provisional Programme for the Eleventh Session (Budget Session) of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, scheduled to commence from March 19. Therefore, all members of the BAC have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting as scheduled.
DLST condemns extortion
Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): The Dimapur Langpangkong Senso Telongjem (DLST) has condemned the extortion and robbery by unidentified armed miscreants on Nitin Sai Construction at Changtongya to Dikhu road on February 27. The DLST office in a press release expressed shock and resentment over such daylight incidents and called upon all right thinking citizens to condemn the act. Meanwhile, the Dimapur Langpangkong Tsukong Mungdang has reminded the public that Langpangkong Tsukong Mungdang (LTM) through the Langpangkong Tsukong Mungdang-Road Coordination Committee (LTM-RCC) has on November 20, 2021 and January 28, 2022, declared Langpangkong range as ‘tax free zone’ for any developmental projects in the range are efficiently carried out without any hindrance or delay. Further, DLST has asked the miscreants to “reach out” the LTM-RCC “before the situation further escalates to the worst.”
State Handloom Expo in Dimapur from March 11 to 24
Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. Dimapur will be organizing State Handloom Expo at Urban Haat, Dimapur from March 11 to 24. It is sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Interested Co-operative Societies, NGOs, Apex Societies, SHGs, etc. are requested to apply to the Project Cell, NHHDC Ltd, Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, along with their respective ID cards issued by the Corporation on or before March 8 during office hours. All participants must be COVID Vaccinated and follow strict SOPs laid down by the Government of Nagaland. All stalls shall be provided free of cost.
