Committee to assist trainings for PwDs constituted

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The Government of Nagaland has constituted a committee for recommendation of suitable trades to impart non-formal vocational training to People with Disabilities (PwDs) at National Career Service Centre for Differently abled (NCSC-DAO), Kushiabill, Dimapur. The committee which has been formed “in the interest of public service,” constitutes the following members: Commissioner & Secretary, L&E, SD&E, Nagaland- Chairman; Nodal Officer (NCSC-DA), ESD&E-Member Secretary; and members including Director, ESD&E; Director, Social Welfare; a representative from State Commissioner for person with Disabilities, not below the rank of Deputy Director.

NYKS holds state level youth parliament

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) has conducted the State Level Youth Parliament competition on February 28 at the office of Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kohima. Y Chingong from Dimapur stood the first position. Sharon Zeliang from Peren and Mengukhrienuo from Kohima bagged second and third position respectively.

Myki Fest Award Programme on March 8

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The Department of Women Resource Development, Government of Nagaland has informed that the Hornbill Fest-cum-Myki Fest, 2021 which was earlier scheduled from December 2 to 10 at the Hortiscape, Kisama has been rescheduled. 

The competitions on prepared speeches and painting (canvas) are rescheduled for March 8 at Sakhrie Park, Upper AG Colony (Tsiepfii Tsiepfe Upper Sector), Kohima from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.

According to a DIPR report, the theme for both the competitions will be women empowerment vis-a-vis government policies, customary laws, entrepreneur ship and self-employment so that public opinion on the status of women and their roles can be made known. 

Further, the Myki Fest Award Programme will also take place on the same day and in the same venue at 3:00 pm.
