GPRN/NSCN (U) Chakhesang Region reaffirms

PHEK, MAY 10 (MExN): The Chakhesang Region of the GPRN/NSCN (Unification) held an emergency meeting on May 6, bringing together regional workers and guards, where it unanimously reaffirmed its support for the collective leadership of president Gen (Retd) MB Neokpao Konyak and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh. In a press release issued by the MIP, the region endorsed the collective leadership to pursue a permanent solution to the long-standing Indo-Naga political issue. It emphasised that any solution must be “honourable and acceptable to all,” and grounded in the “principle of the uniqueness of Naga history.”

 

Mother’s Day greetings

Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): Dy CM and BJP leader Y Patton has extended greetings to all the mothers on their special occasion. Patton said that mothers are the ones who shoulders the responsibilities and sacrifices all their time and energy for the family. “Mother is also the one in whom we can share our worries and cares. And for which, they deserve our deep love and appreciation,” he stated. The Dy CM on behalf of the state BJP legislators, wished all the mothers a very happy and blessed Mothers' day and to those whose mothers have been called by the Lord, he prayed that God will comfort and grant them solace.

 

YTC condemns suspected murder of Yansomong

SHAMATOR, MAY 10 (MExN): The Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) has strongly condemned the barbaric and suspected murder of Yansomong Yimkhiung, a permanent resident of Sangphur village in Shamator district. His body was found under mysterious circumstances on the Mariani-Titabor railway track. The YTC stated that Yansomong, an employee of Vodafone Telecom, had left for Mariani from Mokokchung on May 5, around 2 PM for training. He was dropped off at the Amguri Train Station by two companions, Er Mujano and driver Neojikhiung, around 5 PM that same day, for his onward journey to Guwahati. However, on May 8, Yansomong's body was discovered on the railway track, raising serious concerns over the circumstances surrounding his death. The YTC has demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, calling on law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned in identifying and apprehending those responsible for this heinous act. 

 

UNDP condoles 

Dimapur, may 10 (MExN): The United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) has condolence the demise of Nokpangmenla, the wife of Chingwang Konyak, President of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP). “In this moment of great sorrow, the UNDP stands in solidarity with Chingwang Konyak and the bereaved family. We pray that the Almighty grants Chingwang Konyak and the members of the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in eternal peace,” A Shyerhunlo Lorin, General Secretary, UNDP stated in a press note.
