
Kohima govt offices get April 19 & May 17 off
KOHIMA, MAY 1 (MExN): The Home Department has notified that April 19 and May 17—both third Saturdays—have been declared holidays for state government offices located in Kohima. According to the notification issued by the department, the holidays are declared in lieu of working Saturdays observed on February 8 and March 22. The February 8 working day was necessitated by the 6th Session of the Fourteenth Nagaland Legislative Assembly, while March 22 was declared a working Saturday to facilitate the closing of the financial year. The announcement applies only to government offices functioning within Kohima.
Wokha-Philimi line to go offline two days
KOHIMA, MAY 1 (MExN): The Department of Power, Government of Nagaland, has announced a scheduled shutdown of the 132kV Wokha-Philimi transmission line from May 5 to May 6, to facilitate vegetation clearance and maintenance work under the Kohima Transmission Division. According to a press release issued by Er. Namheu Khate Zeliang, Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division, Kohima, the power supply will be completely shut down between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on both days to ensure safe and efficient execution of the clearance work. The department stated that this activity is necessary to prevent unplanned power disruptions and to ensure the stability of the transmission infrastructure. Consumers and the general public in the affected areas have been requested to cooperate during the shutdown period.
