
GPRN/NSCN (U) Konyak Region reaffirms support
DIMAPUR, MAY 2 (MExN): The civil and military wings of the Konyak Region, GPRN/NSCN (Unification), convened an emergency meeting and unanimously reaffirmed their full support and endorsement of the collective leadership of Gen. (Retd.) M B Neokpao Konyak, President, and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh. A press note from the region stated that the reaffirmation reflects the commitment to carry forward the political aspiration of the Naga people under the banner of GPRN/NSCN (U) towards its logical conclusion. The meeting also reiterated the resolution adopted on April 17, 2025, by the Eastern Nagaland National Workers Association (ENNWA), which had declared the unified support of all central civil and army cadres, along with regional workers, to the leadership of Gen. (Retd.) Neokpao and Ato Kilonser Alezo Venuh.

ANCSU hails Govt for revoking assistant professors’ absorption
KOHIMA, MAY 2 (MExN): The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has extended its appreciation to the Government of Nagaland for responding to the voice of the student community by revoking the Cabinet decision dated September 17, 2024, which allowed for the one-time absorption of 147 Assistant Professors under the Higher Education Department. In a press release, ANCSU stated that the government’s decision to heed the collective demand of students and aspirants reflects its commitment to fairness, justice, and the preservation of quality education in the state. “This act of responsiveness stands as a testament to the values of good governance and democratic accountability,” it added. The Union expressed sincere gratitude to college authorities, its units, and all stakeholders who actively supported and participated in the democratic protest. “ANCSU has remained actively involved throughout the issue and played its role to the best of its ability,” it affirmed. Reiterating its belief that quality education remains the cornerstone of a progressive society, especially in challenging times, the Union called upon students to now focus on the upcoming Even Semester Examinations with diligence, determination, and a thirst for knowledge. “Unity is strength and it will always triumph,” ANCSU affirmed, while assuring its continued commitment to safeguarding the interests and welfare of the student community.
