Nominations invited for Subash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar

Chümoukedima, May 11 (MExN): The Office of the Deputy Commissioner Chümoukedima has informed all heads of offices in the district regarding nominations for the prestigious Subash Chandra Bose Aapda Prabandhan Puraskar. According to an official notification, the award recognises individuals, institutions and organisations that have demonstrated exceptional contribution, dedication and exemplary service in the field of disaster management. All departments and offices under Chümoukedima district have been requested to identify and nominate deserving individuals or organisations for the award and submit the list of nominations for onward submission to the government.

KPC mourns demise of Bhim Bahadur Rai

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) has expressed deep sadness over the demise of Bhim Bahadur Rai, father of Hornbill TV reporter Yommi Rai, who passed away in the early hours of Monday after a prolonged illness. In a message, the KPC extended its sincere condolences to Yommi Rai and her family, with prayers for peace, comfort and strength to bear the loss.

DPC condoles passing of Choro Pfuzhe

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): The Dimapur Press Club has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Choro Pfuzhe, brother of its member Ashikho Pfuzhe, who passed away in Delhi on May 10. In a condolence message, the press club extended heartfelt condolences to Ashikho Pfuzhe and the bereaved family during this difficult time. It also prayed that the family find strength and comfort and that the departed soul rest in peace.

CEALPP meeting convened on May 18

Kohima, May 11 (MExN): K G Kenye, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and chairperson of the Committee to Examine the Applicability of Laws Passed by Parliament (CEALPP), has convened a meeting of the committee on May 18 at 11 am at the C Chongshen Committee Room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat. All members of the committee have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting.

Nagaland among four states felicitated for DigiLocker integration

Kohima, May 11 (MExN): Nagaland, along with Gujarat, Rajasthan and Karnataka, was felicitated by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, for its performance in DigiLocker integration during the National Consultative Workshop on “Strengthening Cybersecurity Framework for State Data” held in New Delhi on May 11. Sabou Yashu, Director of Information Technology and Communication, received the award on behalf of the Department of Information Technology and Communication, Government of Nagaland. Meghna Priya received the recognition on behalf of the Nagaland State e-Mission Team under the National e-Governance Division.

Dimapur Police seeks identification on deceased man found near Railgate

Dimapur, May 11 (MExN): Dimapur Police have recovered the body of an unidentified man from below the flyover near Railgate, opposite Traffic Control in Dimapur, officials said. According to police, telephonic information regarding the recovery of the body was received from Dimapur Traffic Control at around 1.30 pm on Sunday. Following the information, duty personnel rushed to the spot for verification and conducted an inquest over the body.
Police said the deceased was a non-Naga male, aged around 45 to 50 years, and the suspected cause of death was starvation or illness. After completion of all legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification. The deceased was found wearing a white vest, grey pants and black underwear. Police have requested relatives, friends or any claimant of the deceased to contact the officer-in-charge of East Police Station, Dimapur, at 7085055020.
