Sikkim Statehood Day greetings

Kohima, May 15 (MExN): On behalf of the people of Nagaland, La Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland has extended greetings and congratulations to the people of Sikkim on the occasion of Sikkim Statehood Day. This day marks the proud journey of Sikkim as a progressive and peaceful state, enriched by its vibrant culture, natural beauty and unity in diversity. “We celebrate your achievements and commend the spirit of your people. May Sikkim continue to flourish in harmony and prosperity. We look forward to deepening the bond of friendship and cooperation between our two beautiful Northeastern states,” the Governor stated in his message.

Phom Region NSCN-R (Wangtin) joins NSCN-R (Akato)

Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Phom Region, NSCN-R (Wangtin) has reportedly joined NSCN-R (Akato). Stating this in a press release, Ponglang Phom (Chairman) and Baong Phom (Secretary) stated that “while keeping in mind the protracted Indo-Naga imbroglio which is yet to reach its logical conclusion, the Phom Region of NSCN-R (Wangtin) under the leadership of its chairman Ponglang and secretary Baong resolved to swear fealty to the NSCN-R (Akato), alongwith the Region guard commander Capt Kaiba and 13 other Naga Army cadres.” They also stated that “This decisive decision to join the NSCN mainstream was purely from intrinsic and coherent aptitude to seek new political directions which is being led by sagacious, astute and insightful leaderships and neither influenced nor impinged by any elements whatsoever.”
