Coordination meeting for Phek dist golden jubilee celebration

Kohima, November 19 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming Phek District Golden Jubilee celebration, Phek deputy commissioner has convened a coordination meeting on November 21 at DC's Conference Hall, Phek at 1:00 PM.
The Event Committee, Planning & Organizing Committee, Transportation Committee and Press & Media Committee members have been requested to make it convenient to attend the said meeting positively.

Deputy CM Patton extends Wangala greetings

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has greeted the Garo community on the occasion of Wangala festival. A press release from the media cell of the Ceputy CM stated that this festival is in “honor of the good harvest bestowed by the Creator.” “This is a time for revelry, where people soak themselves in dances and songs to the beating of drums. On behalf of the state BJP legislators, the Deputy CM conveys heartiest festive greetings and hope that it is celebrated in merry making,” it added.

AR apprehends NSCN (IM) cadre

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 19 (MExN): The Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police apprehended one cadre of the NSCN (IM) in general area of Tisum in Changlang District, Arunachal Pradesh on November 17. A press release from the AR informed that the apprehended cadre “was involved in various extortion related activities.” He was handed over to the police.

PSU against selling of tobacco products to students

Kohima, November 19 (MExN): The Phek Students’ Union (PSU) has notified all the shop owners and shopkeepers that selling of tobacco products to the students is strictly prohibited within the village jurisdiction. If any shop found violating the rules, then, defaulters will be penalized as per the law of the Union. A fine of Rs. 1000 shall be imposed for first offender and Rs. 2000 for second offender. Repeated offender will be refrained from opening his/her shops for one month, the Union stated. Further, the union warned that serious action will be taken against any student who caught purchasing or chewing tobacco products.
