Total ban on plastic in Tuensang
Tuensang, November 22 (MExN): ADC Tuensang and Administrator Tuensang Town Council, Thungchanbemo Tungoe has issued a notification for total ban on Single-Use Plastics within the limit of Tuensang Town Council with immediate effect. The categories of Single Use Plastics include All plastic carry bags with or without handle irrespective of thickness and size. Plastic cutlery including plates, cups, straws etc, Cutlery and other decorative made of Styrofoam (thermocol), D Polythene, E Nylon, F Poly-vinyl-chlorides (PVC), G Poly-Propylene and H Poly-Styrene. The Inspector and officers of TTC have been authorised to oversee and carry out inspection and levy fine against the defaulters.
Rhie-o Peli feast observed
Kohima, November 22 (MExN): Rhie-o Kilha Peli No 6, a peer youth group of L.Khel, Kohima Village observed a grand feast at Gasie in the residence of Khrietouzo Mepfhüo on November 18. Among others, Er. Kevi Miachieo.
Rtd. Engineer-in-chief, Power, Khrietouzo Mepfhüo, Rtd. Chief Architect PWD, Keduovilie Linyü, Rtd, Asst. Director IPR, and Kruzakie Kelio, senior leader of NPF Party addressed the function. Most of the speakers dwelt on maintaining relationship and cooperation even in the future. Two minutes silence was observed in memory of those who had expired. The peer-group Peli was associated with cultivation of crops, and also worked tirelessly in agri-related activities and farming. They performed and presented the event of Thekhra Hie in which the youngsters dressed in traditional attire, sat together and sang together traditional songs during celebration of Sekrenyi Festival.
KMC informs on ‘Best Ward’ award
Kohima, Nov 22 (MExN): In continuation of the earlier office notification on ‘Best Ward’ award under Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), all wards, sectors, colonies have been informed that under ‘Decoration & Illumination during Festive Season,’ more marks will be awarded to those who apply the three Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in their festive decoration. This was stated in a release issued by KMC Administrator T Lanusenla Longkumer.
