
Nagaland Police to organize debate competition on human rights
Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The 15th Nagaland Police State Level Debate Competition on Human Rights Issues will take place on November 30 at Rhododendron Hall, Police Complex, Chumoukedima at 11:00 AM. Organized by Nagaland Police under the aegis of National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi, the competition will be held on the topic ‘Technology is a boon/bane for human rights in contemporary world.’ Nagaland DGP Rupin Sharma and Justice Songkhupchung Serto, Chairperson, Nagaland State Human Rights Commission will address the participants.
Governor greets Rengma community
KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 26 (MExN): Nagaland Governor La Ganesan has extended greetings to the Rengma community on the occasion of the Ngada festival. “Ngada festival is a celebration of the post-harvest with thanksgiving to the Almighty God for His bountiful blessings. It is a festival of merry-making and rejoicing, good wishes for good luck and prosperity. It is also the festival to forgive whatever wrongs or misdeeds committed in the past and it also marks the beginning of new relationships and peace treaties,” the Governor stated in a press release.
NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) extends Ngada greetings
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 26 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has extended greetings on the joyous occasion of the Ngada festival of the Rengma Nagas. It is a post harvest festival as a sign of thanksgiving and a time for rejoicing, where the village high priest called 'Phensengu' heralds the beginning of the festival, which is observed with feasting, singing and dancing, a press release from the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) stated. “May the spirit of this Ngada festival be upon our Rengma Naga brothers and sisters and may it bring them all the good things in life including prosperity, wealth, health and happiness,” it added.
