DDCF appeal to defer eviction notice

Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has made an appeal to the Administrator of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) for deferment of an eviction notice.
The DDCF in the letter appended by its President, Y Kikon and General Secretary, Richard Haolai stated that the request has been put forward with reference to the notice served to the allottee of New Market (western side) dated October 9.
The forum highlighted that the order to vacate will affect more that 200 shops including some residences in the said area directly or indirectly. With the onset of the festive season and the increase in shoppers during this season, vacating the area at this moment will even affect shoppers from within and outside Dimapur and Nagaland, it stated.
Therefore, the DDCF has requested the DMC Administrator to defer the process to a later date for the convenience of the citizens and the occupants.
Further, the forum has requested the DMC office to make an alternative arrangement to relocate those shops and residents which will come under the vacating process, within New Market area itself.
