Two Yung Aung-led NSCN (K) surrender: AR

Kohima, October 24 (MExN): Two active cadres of Aung-led NSCN (K) have surrendered separately to Assam Rifles in the recent past, an official release informed. 

A press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (North) informed that a cadre surrendered on October 22 in Mom with “with a pistol (with magazine), 03 rounds of ammunition, one grenade and other war like stores.”

“The surrendered cadre was allegedly the kingpin for extortion related activities in the area,” it maintained.

The Security Forces proactively pursued the cadre for the last few months and convinced him to surrender and join the mainstream, it added. 

As per the PRO, a total of 25 cadres have surrendered so far general area of Mon in 2023.

Meanwhile another Aung-led NSCN (K) cadre also surrendered recently before a joint team of Assam Rifles and Tirap Police along with a 9 mm pistol and three live rounds in Khonsa, Tirap, Arunachal Pradesh.

As per the release, he was also “proactively pursued” by the security forces to join the mainstream. 
Assam Rifles has motivated seven cadres to surrender in the past one year in Tirap District, it added.

Bike recovered, owner asked to claim it within 7 days

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 24 (MExN): NSCN (K) Western Command, Naga Army has recovered one Royal Enfield (black color) without registration number, bearing Engine No- 34A13J28210287 and Chassis No- ME3J3C5FKN2024079, from Chümoukedima area.
Therefore, genuine owner has been asked to claim the bike by furnishing original documents within 7 days from the issue of this notification, an MIP release informed.  Contact @ 8837486702.

11 from NSCN (K) shifts allegiance to NSCN (IM)

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 24 (MExN): Eleven members from the Myanmar based Maj. General (Retd.) Angmei led NSCN (K) group shifted allegiance to NSCN (IM) to work under the leadership of general secretary Th Muivah, who is spearheading the Indo-Naga political talk at the highest level, a MIP press release informed on Tuesday. 

The members include A Khampei Opeiham, Kilonser, Center Executive Member, Chairman, Konyak Region; CCM Lempha Wangsu; Leacy Aleam Wangnao; Leacy Langngam Wangsu; Capt. Nokngam Wangsu; 2nd Lieut. Aton Wangsu; Sgt. Maj. Apan Wangsa; Sgt. Phowang Konyak Wangsa; Corporal Wankap Wangsa; Corporal Aman Wangsa and Corporal Nahpan Wangnao.

Yung Aung led NSCN (K) appoints

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 24 (MExN): Yung Aung led NSCN (K) group in an emergency meeting held on October 23 appointed Tikling Konyak as acting chairman and Tolong Konyak as acting vice chairman. The newly appointed officials will serve as the interim authority of the Konyak Region for a period of 6 month with effect from October 23, a press release received from Deputy Kilonser, Col Retd Joseph informed.

ZSUN, PGEU condemns assault on ADC Peren

PEREN, OCTOBER 24 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland and Peren Government Employees’ Union (PGEU)  has condemned the physical assault meted on ADC Peren, Keyirangding Hegiu on October 21 at Jalukie ‘B’ village. 

“This unwanted behaviour has caused to reflect a grave and overwhelmingly disreputable image of the entire youth and students of the Zeliang community which otherwise is known for the peace-loving, modest and highly disciplined nature amongst all the Naga tribes,” a condemnation note issued by ZSUN stated. 

In a separate press statement, the PGEU appealed the law enforcing agencies to accord befitting punishment as per the provision of law and deliver justice at the earliest.
