DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Chümoukedima has informed that hiring charges for vehicles requisitioned for election duty during the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly Election 2023 in Ghaspani-1 and Ghaspani-II Assembly Constituencies will be disbursed on November 3 and 4 at the office of the EAC, Seithekema from 10:30 am onwards. The charges will be paid for the following types of vehicles: Tata Sumo, Tata Winger, Force Traveller, and Toyota Innova. The DC asked the respective vehicle owners and drivers to report to the aforementioned office and receive the same by producing the Vehicle Requisition Order in original. The dates for disbursal of charges for the other categories of vehicles will be announced at a date to be notified later.
NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) extends Chavang Kut greetings
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): The NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) has extended Chavang Kut greetings to the Kuki community. “Chavang Kut is a post-harvest festival to offer thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. People of all ages, young or old are involved in numerous activities including traditional dances, songs and games,” a press release from the MIP of the NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) stated. It hoped that this festival would continue to bring people together and foster friendship and unity.
CAKSU inducts new office bearers
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): The Chakhro Angami Kuda Students' Union (CAKSU) inducted a new team of office bearers for the tenure of 2023-2025 at Chakhro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU) Hall, Phevima Village. Outgoing President, Kethosilie Belho, thanked everyone for their cooperation and looked forward to working together in the days to come. The new President Alenuo Delie sought prayers and blessings for the new team as they embark on their activities. The program was chaired by the outgoing Social and Cultural Secretary, Vizokhonuo Kulnu. Invocation was offered by CAKSU Advisor, Enoli Duoneinuo Kire. Short speeches were delivered by CAKU President, Thepfungunyu Teiso Solo; Tenyimia Students Union Dimapur President, Vibozo Tetso; and Finance Secretary of Dimapur Naga Students Union, David Keneingutuo. The newly appointed members were dedicated with words of encouragement and prayer by Pastor Mhalevi Zhotso, CRC, Phevima Village. The newly inducted office bearers, led by President Alenuo Delie and General Secretary Visimetuo Nagi will serve for the tenure of 2023-2025.
Lazami Students’ Union condemns
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 31 (MExN): The Lazami Students’ Union has condemned the incident where one AbotoAchumi was hit by a car and killed on October 26, the accident leaving another person critically injured. A press release from the LSU expressed shock to learn that the vehicle which caused the accident is a Government registered vehicle. The union questioned how the vehicle allotted to the concerned officer for official duties was driven by an unauthorized person in an inebriated state late at night. It asked all right thinking citizens of the state to condemn the misuse of government registered vehicle and also appealed the law enforcing agency to book the culprits and defaulting officer immediately and award befitting punishment as per the law.
