
AYO and ZYO (N) resolve to promote unity
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Youth Organisation Nagaland informed that a consultative meeting was held between the Angami Youth Organisation and the ZYO (N) on October 28 at Jalukie town. A press release from the ZYO (N) said that the meeting was a “fruitful one in which both the organizations resolved on the need to promote unity and brotherhood bonding between the two communities.” The meeting further deliberated to uplift their relations in the days to come.
Finance dept designates Additional Secretary as PIO
KOHIMA, OCTOBER 20 (MExN): The Finance Department has officially designated Wonchio Odyuo as the Public Information Officer (PIO) for the Finance Department, in accordance with Section 5(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005. Wonchio Odyuo, who holds the position of Additional Secretary in the Finance Department, will now serve as the designated PIO responsible for handling and responding to requests for information under the RTI Act pertaining to the Finance Department, a DIPR report informed.
Gov extends Chaga Gadi greetings
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Governor or Nagaland, La Ganesan has extended greetings on the occasion of the Chaga Gadi festival to the Zeliang community. A press release from the Governor said that the “festival marks the invoking of the showers of blessings of good harvest and good health from the almighty.” May the divine blessings of a bountiful harvest, prosperity and peace be upon everyone, he stated. “As we joyously celebrate the festival, let us also continue to preserve and promote our age old traditions and keep the spirit of tradition and cultural heritage alive,” the Governor added.
KMC to hold meeting on Nov 2
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed that there will be a meeting at the KMC office on November 2 at 2 pm to discuss some important issues regarding waste management. A circular from the KMC Administrator requested all concerned to attend the meeting without fail.
NTC mourns
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has expressed shock at the demise of C Akang Ao who passed away on October 26. “C Akang Ao was one of the active and founding members of the Nagaland Tribes Council who did not budge nor got his principle swayed but stood his ground as a man of integrity. He was an experienced, sincere, and a dedicated person committed towards the welfare of the society. His early departure for the heavenly home has not only created void in the Ao Community but also amongst all Nagas in general,” a press release from the NTC stated. It further expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
NSCN/GPRN (Akato Chophi) greets Zeliang community

State Handloom Expo in Phek
DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd is organizing State Handloom Expo in Phek town from December 12 to 18. A press release informed that the last date of submission of application is December 1.The event is sponsored by the office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom), Ministry of Textiles. Interested co-operative societies, producer companies, SHGs, federations, apex societies, handloom & handicrafts agencies including silk weavers, jute artisans and KVIC may apply for participation to the Project Cell, NHHDC Ltd, Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, along with detailed address, mobile number, bank A/C number with IFSC code of the participants with an application on or before on the above mentioned date during office hours. All stalls shall be provided free of cost with lump sum TA/DA/and freight charges will be re-imbursed as per prescribed rates of NHDP guidelines.
