All HoDs and AHoDs directed to attend NLA session

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): Chief Secretary, J Alam has informed that in view of the ongoing Assembly session, all AHoDs/HoDs have been requested to attend the sessions on all business days without fail and be available in the officers gallery to assist the Ministers and Advisors in discharging their assembly work. An order from the Chief Secretary asked all AHoDs/HoDs to minimise granting leave to officers unless absolutely unavoidable. Similarly, tours of all AHoDs/HoDs outside the State xapital, during this period may also be minimised.

DC & DEO Kohima informs on remuneration

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): The DC and DEO of Kohima has informed that all Reserved Polling Personnel, Counting Supervisors, Counting Assistants and Tabulators under Kohima District to collect remuneration in connection with the recently concluded 14th NLA Election, 2023. The remuneration can be collected from the office of the DC and DEO Kohima, (DC Office Top Floor, Election Branch) from September 15 to 18 during office hours.

Mass social work in Chümou on September 16

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): In view of the Indian Swachhata League 2.0 of Swachhata Pakhwada 2023 (September to October 2), a mass social work has been scheduled on September 16 from 6:00 am to 8:30 Am in all wards within Chümoukedima town jurisdiction with the objective to clean the town and spread awareness on waste management. A circular from the Chümoukedima Town Council has informed respective Ward GBs/Chairpersons to mobilize the public to participate in their respective wards. All shopkeeper/business establishments have also been directed to participate in the mass social work to clean the surroundings and also to ensure provision of two dustbins (dry/wet) in their premises and not to litter their waste on the road side.  During the drive, all the shop owners, business establishments have been asked to down their shops and take active participation till the completion of the mass social work.

Trade fair in Pughoboto from September 15 to 30

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): The Pughoboto Town Youth Organisation has informed that it will collaborate with the Kevi (NETEx) Society Kohima to organize the first ever trade fair and expo at Pughoboto town from September 15 to 30. The Kevi Society Kohima was formed in the year 2010 by educated unemployed Naga youths. Thomas Chawang is the Chairman of the society along with his team who organises trade fairs all over Nagaland and neighbouring states, a press release from the PTYO informed. Many companies across the country will participate in the fair coming from different states like Nagaland, Assam, Delhi, Punjab etc, it added. Some of the items which will be displayed and will be on sale include kitchen tools and kits, health products, Ayurvedic and herbal medicines, sofas, mobile accessories, electronics, unbreakable plastics, tandooris, jewellery etc. People will be able to attend the trade fair for free, it informed.

KMC directs ward authorities to adhere to CCPD Court order

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 12 (MExN): Administrator of the Kohima Municipal Council, T Lanusenla Longkumer has directed all Ward Chairmen within the Kohima Municipality regarding compliance with a court order from the Court of Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MosJE), Government of India.
In the Order dated May 22 pertaining to Case No. 13506/1102/2022/158497, the Court recommended that the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs adhere to the provisions outlined in sections 3, 5, 40, 42, and 46 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and Rule 15 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules 2017. These provisions stipulate the necessity of ensuring the sharing of all public notices and other public information on display screens within residential buildings and complexes. In light of this court order, the Administrator of KMC has directed all ward authorities to take immediate action and implement measures to comply with the court's instructions. This includes the installation of devices that can display various community-related notices, circulars, and other information or media content relevant to residents. Additionally, these devices should provide audio facilities to enable individuals with visual impairments to access the displayed information. The Administrator emphasized that this compliance is a priority and should cover all categories of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
