Kiphire helipad trial landing held successfully
KIPHIRE, SEPTEMBER 17 (MExN): A successful trail landing was carried out today after the renovation of the existing helipad in Kiphire. The helipad service had been inactive for several months due to the unsafe conditions of the helipad ground. This had caused serious inconvenience as patients in the district were forced to travel another 43Km to Pungro in worst case scenarios for chopper service, or either have to take an ambulance via the national highway to the capital or Dimapur for treatment. A proper fence along with a solid iron gate has also been constructed across the helipad area, further assuring the safety and security of the helipad service. Longdiba, SDO Supervisor of the helipad stated "The pilot who usually complained on the bad conditions of the helipad has himself expressed satisfaction over the renovation work". "They will soon resume the helipad service on regular basis, most likely in the coming week" SDO added.
