BSF organises lecture on job opportunities in Chozuba

Chozuba, September 2 (MExN): The 111 Battalion Border Security Force (BSF) organised a lecture on career opportunities in BSF at Government Higher Secondary School, Chozuba on September 2. According to an update from the DIPR, the programme highlighted the welfare activities of the BSF, vocational courses offered as well as computer education. Information on the criteria to join the BSF through Staff Selection Commission and Union Public Service Commission in different levels with pay structure were also given. Students, teachers and public leaders participated in the orientation programme, the update stated.

Wokha: COTPA conducts enforcement drive

Wokha, September 2 (MExN): The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) Flying Squad led by its Team Leader, O/C Wokha Police Station, including representatives from National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), DBs, personnel from P/S Wokha and Women Police Station conducted raid/enforcement drive in and around educational institutions on August 31. As per COTPA Act, selling of any kind of tobacco products within 100 metres of school area is restricted, stated a DIPR report. The team after conducting the raid, penalized three defaulters and seized tobacco products from the shops falling within the restricted areas. The defaulters were warned that, should they fail to abide by the COTPA Act, necessary legal action shall be initiated as per the provisions of the law. The seized tobacco products were destroyed on the same day in the presence of all the team members at the Wokha Police Station premises.

Dept of Art & Culture informs on collection of books

Kohima, September 2 (MExN): The Directorate of Art & Culture has informed all the rural libraries enlisted with the Department that the books for 2022-2021 and 2021-2022 may be collected from the Directorate of Art & Culture from September 7 to October 7 during office hours. All the libraries must come with Library Round Seal and designation seal (President, Librarian or General Secretary), without which, books will not be issued. On the expiry of the last date, books will be taken by the respective District Cultural Officers/Registering Officer to their respective Headquarters, it informed in a notice issued through the state DIPR on Friday.

5th NAP Battalion Phek to conduct annual classification firing

Phek, September 2 (MExN): The 5th NAP Battalion, Phek will be conducting Annual Classification Firing with effect from September 5 to September 10 at the Unit Firing Range. Informing this in a notice issued through the state DIPR, Commandant, 5th NAP Battalion Phek, C Limawati Imchen has requested all public and nearby villagers not to go near the firing range and not to let any domesticated animals in the vicinity of the firing range area.
