
Dimapur: Road below flyover closed
DIMAPUR, APRIL 14 (MExN): The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has issued a traffic advisory announcing the closure of a road segment below the Flyover along the Dimapur Railway Siding due to highway development works. The closure, which will be in effect from April 16 to April 30, 2025, is intended to facilitate construction activities on National Highway-36. According to the advisory, the affected stretch runs from Blue Hill Police Assistant Booth (PAB) to the exit point of the Flyover Y-Junction. The closure is necessary to ensure the smooth and safe execution of pavement strengthening works involving Dry Lean Concrete (DLC) and Pavement Quality Concrete (PQC). The road works cover the NH-36 stretch from Km 160.000 to Km 166.880. “Commuters are therefore advised to plan their road travel accordingly,” the police stated.
Health Dept warns employees
DIMAPUR, APRIL 14 (MExN): The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland has issued an order stating that any unauthorized absence from duty, unauthorized rational duty, unauthorized leave, failure to perform duties etc by any employee in the department is prohibited. It further directed all employees to report for duty and remain on duty as schedule unless properly authorized or notified otherwise. “Non compliance by any employee shall be subject to disciplinary action as deemed fit including no work, no pay,” it added.
NFHRCC to initiate joint inspection
Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) during its emergency meeting held at Dimapur on April 14 resolved to initiate a joint inspection to the project sites at any appropriate time. Therefore, in view of this matter, NFHRCC has requested the Department “not to release any funds till the joint inspection is done so as to avoid misunderstanding the Committee and the Department.” The Media Cell, NFHRCC in its press release stated that the committee also resolved to fervently urge the Department of Public Works, Road & Bridges to advise all the contractors and firms of the 17 work orders to immediately start/activate the works on full strengths in their allocated work sites. The committee also resolved to “seriously” remind the concerned Department to honour both the MOU agreed upon on March 5, 2025 as it was done on the advice of the Minister, PWD R&B, Nagaland.
Prominent citizen Poswuyi passes away

Kohima, April 14 (MExN): A prominent citizen Poswuyi Swuro, former DB and former Pastor of Ruzazho Village Baptist Church passed away at his native Village Ruzazho in Phek district on April 14. He was the father of Dr Er Vekho Swuro. Poswuyi is believed to have lived over 100 years. He was reportedly associated with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose during Bose stay at Ruzazho for 9 days. His funeral service will take place on April 15 at 2; 00 PM at Ruzazho, according family source.
