Bridge over Dzumha River washed away
Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): In view of incessant rainfall and subsequent flooding, the temporary bridge over the Dzumha River, situated between Jharnapani and Molvom/Peren road, has been washed away. The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Aotula T Imchen, issued an advisory stating that movement of all types of vehicles has been restricted with immediate effect in the interest of public safety. “This advisory shall come into force with immediate effect,” the advisory read.
Dimapur to face intermittent power shutdowns for upgrades
Dimapur, August 25 (MExN): The Electrical Division, Dimapur, has informed all consumers that intermittent power shutdowns will be observed in areas where feeder/line re-conductoring, new line installation, and distribution transformer works are underway under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS-LR). The division in a press release issued by its Executive Engineer Lhuvoyi stated that the work is undertaken for improvement of power supply systems. It appealed to consumers to bear with the inconvenience, adding “this exercise shall continue till the completion of all works.”
FGN/NNC meeting on August 31
Kohima, August 25 (MExN): The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) and the Naga National Council (NNC) will hold a meeting at Transit Peace Camp, Kohima, on August 31 at 10 am. The FGN Ministry of Rali Wali, in an information issued on August 25, said all central and regional authorities, leaders of the Naga Women Federation (NWF), Naga Youth Federation (NYF), and high-ranking Naga Army officers of the NNC/FGN have been requested to attend the meeting. The Ministry urged the authorities and leaders concerned to ensure their positive participation in the meeting.
