KPC mourns passing of member's brother
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): The Kohima Press Club (KPC) has expressed grief over the demise of Vihutuo Tsükrü, brother of its former General Secretary and current member, Atono Tsükrü Kense, who passed away at Oking Hospital on Monday. He was 34. Tsükrü is survived by his wife and a four-month-old infant, the club said in a statement. In a message, KPC President Vishü Rita Krocha and General Secretary Seyiekietuo Keretsu extended heartfelt condolences to Atono and her family, praying that she finds comfort in the cherished memories shared with her brother. “The Kohima Press Club deeply mourns the untimely loss and stands in solidarity with our member during this difficult hour,” the statement added, while praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
Chakhesang Vero Union office bearers
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): The Chakhesang Vero Union has announced its office bearers for the tenure 2026-2028. The team will be led by Vethi Vero as chairman. Other office bearers included; Vice- chairman-Vedekho Vero, General Secretary- Peter Vero, Joint Secretary- Kasahi Vero, Finance Secretary-Tavezo Vero, Treasurer- Zapove Vero and Information & Publicity Secretary-Chizokho Vero.
Comprehensive digital database of athletes
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): To create a unified single-window digital portal for athlete welfare scheme, the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland, will be compiling a Comprehensive digital database of athletes to ensure transparency, ease of access and effective monitoring of athlete welfare and development programme. Stating this in a release, N Vineikholie, DYRSO Dimapur requested all the District Sports Association under Dimapur and Niuland to compile an athlete database in the prescribed format to the office of the District Youth Resources and Sports Officer Dimapur on or before July 24 for onward submission to the Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports. EDTC to organise free anti-rabies vaccination camp on June 26
Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): The East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC), in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Dimapur, will organise a free anti-rabies vaccination camp on June 26.
According to a press release issued by the council, the camp will be held at the EDTC Office, Purana Bazar ISBT, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
All pet owners and animal caretakers within the council's jurisdiction have been encouraged to bring their dogs and cats for vaccination. The initiative aims to help prevent rabies while promoting public health and animal welfare.
Social pension payments in Dimapur to begin June 25
Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): The District Welfare Office, Dimapur, has informed all beneficiaries of the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and other state-sponsored pension schemes that the pending payments will be disbursed from June 25 at its office located opposite Garo Church, Eralibill. The payments cover beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS), Totally Blind Pension and Financial Assistance to Disabled Persons (State) under the Dimapur district. The disbursement will be carried out sector-wise as intimated to the respective Anganwadi Workers, the order issued by District Welfare Officer Keneikesangulie Zumu stated. All beneficiaries have been directed to submit photocopies of their BPL Card, Aadhaar Card, and the first page of their bank account passbook at the time of collection. The Aadhaar number must be seeded to the respective bank account, failing which the department will not be held responsible if their names are deleted from the beneficiaries' list in the subsequent payment cycle.
