A life-size Ao Naga traditional house was constructed at Süngkotenem Park, Mopungchuket village, Mokokchung by the village community under the initiative of Mopungchuket Community Tourism Society (MCTS) with the goal of preserving and reviving traditional household items, practises, and crafts as well as for educating the younger generation. On Friday, September 2, after a dedicatory prayer was said by Rev Jongpong, Pastor of Mopungchuket Baptist Church, Arentemsü Lemtur, Chairman of the Mopungchuket Village Council, officially opened the home. The house, which is now the sole authentically traditional Ao Naga home in the village and is furnished with all the traditional furniture and fittings, is meant to support the village's tourism initiatives. North East Institute of Social Sciences & Research organized its 8th Annual Freshers’ Day on August 26 at Peace Centre Auditorium, Chümoukedima, during which James Phanungkiu and Juli Zhimomi were crowned as Mr & Miss Fresher, 2022 respectively. The selection process included different rounds namely introduction, traditional, questioning and coronation. The judges were Dr Abel Arüna, Asst Prof, NEISSR and Elizabeth Pojar, Asst Prof, NEISSR.
