The PRO Bono Club Kohima Law College organised a state level quiz competition consisting of three law colleges in Nagaland i.e City Law College Dimapur, Kohima Law College and Mokokchung Law College on Constitutional Trivia 2022 on September 30. The winners were awarded a prize money of Rs10,000, Rs 7,000 & Rs 5,000 for first, second & third respectively along with two consolation prizes of Rs 1500 each and all the participants would be given certificate. 

The Academic and Administrative Audit members visited Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) on September 30. The members include Additional Director Higher Education, Dr Lily Sema as the Convenor with Principal Dimapur Govt College, Dr Sanjay Sharma and Dy Director, Dr Medongoi Rhakho as the members. The team inspected various facilities of the college and identified core areas of development that needed focus. They also interacted with the Principal, IQAC Co-ordinator, HODs of all the departments, faculty, staff and students’ executive members and advised the college to be prepared for NAAC assessment. Hostellers of Shalom School Longwa, Mon joins in pray for the concern on ‘children & mental health’ as part of 10-day awareness campaign by CMHP Prodigals Home on October 2. Some of the others who joined the prayer were Child Department of Chümoukedima Ao Baptist Church; Glad Children Church, The Lighthouse Church, Dimapur; and Christ Church, Mokokchung.

One-day spiritual awakening programme was organised at Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church D Block under the theme, ‘Renew us in you’ on October 1 with Alito Swu, Associate Pastor, Women SABAK Kohima and Atuo Whourie, Pastor Baptist Mission Church (BMC) Kohima as a resource person. 

Dimasa Youth Organisation Nagaland (DYON) in collaboration with the Jantati Vikash Samiti Nagaland (JVSN) organised a cleanliness drive at the Kachari Rajbari, Dimapur on account of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The drive begins with an invocation, welcome address by Ringjen Langthasa, President, DYON, short keynote address by Ragunandanji, Organising Secretary (Sangathan Mantri), JVSN. The drive was initiated with the motive of adopting healthy sanitation practices and maintaining hygiene. Youths and students of 10 Dimasa Kachari villages along with members from JVSN participated at the event.

As part of the skill development programme, GHS Yaongyimchen, Longleng conducted workshop on ‘Do It Yourself’ in the school premises. The workshop was aimed at training and equipping the students for self sustainability and inculcate entrepreneurial attitude by exploring the available resources in the vicinity. To mark Gandhi Jayanti, the Eco Club of GMS Sangtamtilla conducted a cleanliness drive with the motto ‘Save mother Earth’ in the school premises October 2. Also to promote re-cycle and re-use from kitchen waste, the students were taught how to make organic fertilizer and use them in the kitchen gardens and plants. The team also planted various fruit saplings.

Public Health Engineering Department, Phek division observed Swachhata Hi Seva campaign on the theme ‘Visual Cleanliness’ from September 15 to October 2. To kick off the campaign, Gram Sabha meeting on Open Defecation Free Plus elements and Swachhata Hi Seva was conducted in all four blocks-Phek, Chozuba, Meluri, and Pfutsero under Phek District. A wide variety of activities were carried out in every village under Phek district led by Swachhagrahis and WATSANs.
