Community Educational Centre Society (CECS) organized awareness cum COVID-19 vaccination drive supported by Wipro Cares on August 5. Dr Sashi Jamir, Medical Officer and team administered around 180 doses. The vaccination drive of 1st and 2nd dose was held at Bangjak Phom Colony and East block Burma Camp Dimapur on the theme ‘vaccine bring us closer.’ It was attended by the Colony heads, Subonenba Longkumer CECS Director, Medical team and organiser along with the community people. District Task Force, Mokokchung carried out random testing for shopkeepers, barbers, street vendors, labourers and public volunteers around Mokokchung Town from July 26 to August 5. A press release from the Chief Medical Officer office, Mokokchung stated that a total of 597 individuals were tested and out of which 5 were detected positive for COVID-19. The Urban Surveillance Team remarked that the turnout among the local shop owners was below expectation and suggested that it is very important for the local shop owners to get tested and know their status to check and control the pandemic. Sisterhood Network (SN) and The Naga Rising (TNR) in collaboration with Foundation of Ecological Security (FES) Gujarat, India donated 77 basic COVID-19 care kits for distribution among COVID Hospital, COVID Care Centre and Health facilities in the District. The kits were received by Dr Limatula Aier, Medical Superintendent, IMDH in presence of Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP & RCH), Dr Temsuyanger, ZLO & DMHP and Zerütso Kesiezie, EAC HQ, Mokokchung. Unity College, Dimapur received ‘One District One Institute Green Champion Award’ from Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur. The award was given for implementation of best practices in the area of sanitation, hygiene, waste management, water management, energy management and greenery management. A webinar was conducted by MGNCRE team in which DC Dimapur encouraged all the stakeholders and every citizen for a collective responsibility towards maintaining a clean environment.
