Community Educational Centre Society (CECS) organized awareness cum COVID-19 vaccination drive supported by Wipro Cares on August 5. Dr Sashi Jamir, Medical Officer and team administered around 180 doses. District Task Force, Mokokchung carried out random testing for shopkeepers, barbers, street vendors, labourers and public volunteers around Mokokchung Town from July 26 to August 5. A press release from the Chief Medical Officer office, Mokokchung stated that a total of 597 individuals were tested and out of which 5 were detected positive for COVID-19. The Urban Surveillance Team remarked that the turnout among the local shop owners was below expectation and suggested that it is very important for the local shop owners to get tested and know their status to check and control the pandemic.
