The C-Edge College, Department of Education in collaboration with Canaan Hands Group organised sales day on April 5. Canaan Hands Group is a voluntary group of students and faculty whose main motto is ‘To Work, Sacrifice and to gain Self-Reliance.’ The joint venture was carried out to inculcate basic education and life skills development among the students. The Special Olympics Bharat Nagaland Special Smiles was held at Smiles- Super Speciality Dental Centre, Aiko building, Dimapur on April 7. Launched under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative by the Government of India, the health screening programme aimed to reach a record 75,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities in 75 cities of India marking the 75 years of independence. The dental screening was done by a team of doctors including Dr Kaketo Yepthomi (Beyond Smiles- Super Speciality Dental Centre), Dr Talisunup Longkumer, Dr Thungbeni Ngullie, Dr Kekhriesevor Meyase, Dr Karishma Thapa, and Dr Elithung Ovung. The total turnout was 31 from Dimapur.

District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team conducted a mock drill at Niuland on April 6, under the chairmanship of DC Niuland & Chairman DDMA, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS. The mock drill exercise was conducted assuming the scenario of an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 Richter striking Niuland at 12:00pm. Meanwhile, Assistant Commandant NDRF, Deputy Commandant CTI HGCD- SDRF, Dimapur and Consultant NSDMA as observers witnessed the entire mock drill event and acknowledged the professionalism displayed by the personnel involved in the mock drill. Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN), Tseminyu conducted a free health camp with seven doctors from the Health Department and Veterinary Department covering Tsogin Range under Tseminyu district on April 7. Three villages under Tsogin Range viz. Tsosinyu, Gwachonlo and Logwesunyu were covered. About 150 patients were attended to by the medical team and more than 200 livestock were vaccinated.
