The Nagaland state unit of All India Freedom Fighter & Successors Organization (AIFFSO) observed 79th anniversary of Quit India Movement in the state capital Kohima on August 9. Two minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the freedom fighters who had sacrificed their lives for the motherland. The programme was chaired by Nagaland state unit AIFFSO president Zeliezhü Angami.

To mark 75 years of Indian Independence, a cycle expedition was jointly organized by the Nagaland Adventure Club (NAC) and Assam Rifles at Dimapur on August 7. The 74Km long expedition passed through Dimapur-Medziphema-Molvum-Moava-Punglwa-Gaili-Ngalwa-Heinekongla and culminated at Jalukie. The event was flagged off by the President & Secretary Nagaland GB Association and Dimapur Assam Rifles. 31 cyclists, including two female cyclists, participated in the event. (DIPR Photo)
