In commemoration of the 75th Indian Independence Day, District Administration Noklak reached out to senior citizens of Noklak town on August 9 and 10. As a mark of respect, gifts were handed out to 131 senior citizens of Noklak town who are 75 years and above, as stated by EAC HQ, Kathyinla, officer in-charge. Public Health Engineering Department, Phek observed the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ weeklong campaign, organized by DWSM PHED Phek and sponsored by WSSO, PHED Kohima. During the campaign, more than 50 different tree saplings were planted around Water Treatment Plant. IEC materials on Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance was produced and distributed at village level. Various other activities were also conducted.

District Transport Officer and Traffic Police handing over helmets to riders during the road safety campaign conducted by District Road Safety Committee, Wokha to commemorate the celebration of 75th Years of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) at Wokha Town. Bikers driving without helmets were given free helmets free to sensitize them on the importance of wearing helmets to save lives. Defaulters were cautioned that penalty will be imposed if caught without helmets again. Anusha Project (P) Limited donated an ambulance to Chief Medical Officer, Wokha on August 12. The handing over of the ambulance was held at Deputy Commissioner Office complex. During the short programme, General Manager Anusha Project (P) Limited, Reddy said, the company’s intention in providing the ambulance to the district is to help the people of the district who are need of the ambulance service and also added that through the small gesture, it will benefit the people of the district.
