Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly called on the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal & Mining, Pralad Joshi in New Delhi on October 12. The Speaker expressed his thankfulness to the Union Minister for the support extended in the implementation of the National E-Vidhan Application Project in the NLA Secretariat. The Union Minister appreciated the hard work and commitment shown by the NLA Secretariat for the early implementation of the Project and congratulated the Speaker for being the first in the Country to operationalise the E-Vidhan Project in the Assembly Secretariat.

The foundation stone for construction of washrooms at College of Arts & Technology, Nerhe- Phezha was laid by Rtn. Neeraj Bhatnagar on October 10.  This is a joint venture of Rotary Club of Kohima, RID 3240 & Rotary Club of Delhi South East and supported by RNB Project Aspire, Today to Eternity Foundation.

The first co-ordination meeting, 2022 of the Chakhroma Youth Organisation, Western Sumi Sports Association and Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation for the 2nd Brotherhood Sports Meet was held on October 11. The meeting was called by the CYO and hosted by Zhato Kimho, President, Chakhroma Public Organisation. An awareness music video titled ‘Longjemer Nokdakti’ was released by Shashank Pratap Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung in celebration of International Day of the Girl Child on October 11. The music video is an initiative of the District Administration, Mokokchung & Sakhi One Stop Centre. The song was written and composed by Lima A Pongen and sung by Kilemtula and is available for viewing on Youtube. The song depicts violence, inequality, and injustice towards women and the unprecedented challenges to various rights, and physical and mental wellness that women face in society today.

The road between Phek town and Kotisu village via Sohomi (approx 20 KMs) was left unattended for many months leaving the people of the area facing untold hardships. The Kotisu Village Council, Chairman, Vechita Tetseo in a press release said that PWD (R&) Phek Division, under the initiative of Executive Engineer Semasie Katiry is undertaking repair of the road in full swing with required machineries.

The Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA) launched its Lumjapung project on October 10 at YTC Complex Shamator with a prayer from Lakiumong, Youth Secretary YBBA. The project aims to give free coaching to HSLC and HSSLC both repeaters and regular students and also provides free hostel facilities to girls. More than 50 students are enrolled so far.
