A multibrand eyewear shop, Shades & Frames, was inaugurated at CT Square, 7th Mile, Chümoukedima on January 23. According to the proprietor, the shop will cater needs of all age groups and sells both lifestyles as well as normal eyewear. Rev Candid Sareo dedicated the shop.
The Chizami COB of Chieswema Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organized a mini marathon at Chizami in Phek district on January 23. The event was part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and to promote physical fitness and motivate the local youth to lead a healthy life. The event witnessed the participation of 95 youth from two towns and ten villages under Secheku range. The Mini Marathon of 11 km was flagged off by Maj Arpit Gupta, Company commander, Chizami. Meanwhile, local population praised the efforts of Assam Rifles for conducting such event for benefit of the people.
A coordination meeting to discuss the work distribution and other logistic arrangements in regard to the celebration of Republic Day at Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza, Kohima on January 26 was held at DC's Conference Hall, Kohima on January 23. During the meeting, DC Kohima, Shanavas C IAS took the status and updates of the departments assigned with various works for the celebration of Republic Day. He asked the District Heads of Offices to attend the programme with their respective employees. The meeting further entrusted various organizations for visitation of institutions on the occasion. Christian Higher Secondary School (CHSS) Dimapur conducted a two-day intensive teachers’ workshop and skills enhancement training on January 20 and 21. Three trainers - Dokina Das, Dr Kekonino Zhünyü, assistant professors from Mt Mary college of Teacher Education, Chümoukedima along with Lion Manisha Ghanti, International Trainer, Lions Quest resourced the teachers on subjects related to the present day educational challenges. The topics included Professional Ethics, Inclusive Education, Constructive Approach, Language in Curriculum, Understanding Child Psychology Addressing common classroom problems and their remedies in Nagaland context, Methodology of teaching Science and Mathematics, Social and Emotional Learning and Four Phase Lesson Design.
