A three-day skill development training programme on basket making for children between 15- 18 years was organised by Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) under Morung Project from June 1 to 3 at Sumi village under Phek district. Kewale Wozah was the resource person during the training. DAN Regional Coordinator, Tshekulhi Aku Thopi spoke on importance of skill development.
ICDS Longleng conducted a three-day training Programme on Poshan Tracker Apps and CBE for Anganwadi Workers (AWW) at VDB Hall Longleng from June 1 to 3. Atsole Khalo, CDPO delivered the keynote address, S Longhong briefed on how to use Poshan Tracker Apps, and a brief note on CBE was delivered by Kethode Dawhou, Supervisor, while Amos Khing, Supervisor spoke on growth monitoring and a brief note on PMMVY was delivered by Afen. Zapami village under Phek district undertook Persimmon Plantation Day on June 2. This is part of the calendar event of ‘Year of Horticulture Zone 2023’ (One Family One Project) at Pforo, said Zapami VDB secretary Kedoutsolhi Wetsah. Wetsah said that the villagers planted 1500 Persimmon saplings in the total area of 10 hectares. 600 villagers joined the plantation.
The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) held its ceremonial "Change of guard" of the new batch of executive officials at it Headquarter Office, Kohima on June 3. Khriesamhalie David Mere took over the charge as new president of ASU for the tenure 2023-25 in the presence of senior leaders. Mere pledged that his team will endeavour to serve the office to the best of their abilities and also sought it seniors to contribute their wisdom to strengthen the Union. Others who spoke were ASU outgoing president, Bisevi Nakhro including tribunals and senior leaders. The programme was chaired by Zhasakholie Kehie while Keyhoviu Medom invoked God’s blessing.
The Constitution of Lotha Hoho was launched at Lotha Hoho Ki, Wokha on June 3. A press release received here stated that during the launching and dedication programme, Rev Abemo Jungio Pastor, Wokha Town Baptist Church said a dedication prayer in the presence of Lotha Hoho members. The constitution was accepted by the general public during the general meeting held on May 10, 2023 at Lotha Hoho Ki, Wokha.
All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) units hoisted Black Flag in their respective college expressing their resentment and demanding justice against the inaction of authorities concerned despite the perpetrators publicly claiming their responsibility for the atrocious crime of vandalizing the NSF and ANCSU office at the wee hours of May 27. “This exercise shall continue until befitting punishment as per the law is initiated by the law enforcing agency against the culprits involved in the criminal act,” stated a press release from the Media Cell, ANCSU.
