District Administration & DLCW-MSK (BBBP) in collaboration with the Department of Sociology, Jubilee Memorial College celebrated International Women's Day by organizing the Mokokchung District Inter-College prepared speech competition on the theme ‘Breaking the Bias’ at Jubilee Memorial College. Kushe Shiu of Fazl Ali College bagged the first position while Imolemla of Fazl Ali College and Sashimenla Imchen of Jubilee Memorial College bagged the second and third position respectively. Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) celebrated International Women’s Day at SD Jain Girls’ College in the presence of its Regional Secretary (North East) Bishnu Bhattacharjee. On the occasion, six Senior Assistant Professors of the college were felicitated as “BVP Empowered Women of the Year 2022” for their dedicated service to empower girl students of Nagaland. Community Health Initiative (CHI), Zaben Murry Design, powered by Menstrual Initiative Nagaland commemorated International Women's Day on March 7 by conducting a free workshop in jewellery making for students. Around 17 students from different schools and colleges from Dimapur participated in the workshop with jewellery designer Zaben Murry as mentor. Certificates were handed out to all the participants.

District Welfare Office, Kohima observed International Women’s Day under the theme ‘gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’. Sentinaro Longchar, Advocate Gauhati High Court Bench Kohima, called stress on the role of legal services and highlighted on Equal pay for equal work, Domestic violence, Zero FIR and also the utilities of services provided by Legal aid authorities etc. District Social Welfare Officer, Akali Sema created awareness on national helpline on senior citizens of Nagaland set up by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, National Institute of Social Defense and the State Government, through the Social Welfare department as the implementing agency. She also highlighted on elder helpline 14567 toll free services. Beneficiaries of old age persons and widow pensioners under National Social Assistance programme attended the programme.

FMU Medziphema organised International Women’s Day programme with Medziphema Self Help Groups, NFMP Dimapur Division at Medziphema Village Council Hall on the theme ‘gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’ with National Shooting Championship winner, Ritu Singh as special invitee.  Forest Ranger cum Field Management Unit (FMU) head, Florence T Sangtam delivered the keynote address. The programme was chaired by Community mobilizer, Limakokla M Jamir, invocation by SHG member, Yachiituono and vote of thanks by Khrielievino from Kroselie SHG, a special number by the members of Kroselie, Velie and Peselie SHGS. FPA India Nagaland Branch in partnership with KNP+ celebrated the International Women’s day on the theme ‘gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’ #breakthebias at KNP+ hall, Kohima along with its members in partnership with Dr Amenla Walling, 4Life IDS. Dr Amenla donated 4Life products worth over Rs one lakh for the members of KNP+.  Kaini, Staff Nurse at Reproductive Health & Family Planning Clinic, Daklane shared on cervical cancer, how it can be detected early and prevented. International Women’s day event was organized by NABARD Nagaland Regional Office and facilitated by NSRLM Changtongya Block respectively at Changtongya Town Longma Watsu Sungki. A Pangolin was released into the Community Wildlife Reserved Forest at Lozaphuhu village under Phek district on March 7 in the presence of Villages leaders and nature enthusiasts. “Lozaphuhu village has been undertaking conservation of Wildlife since 1989 through a resolution adopted by the Community which is one of the first villages to undertake such effort in the District,” an update received here stated. The Pangolin was donated by Zhode Khamo, Administrator of Kiddies Corner School, Phek.
