A total of 7843 numbers of assorted liquor (IMFL) seized by Police Stations under the Dimapur Police Commissionerate were destroyed at the Burma Camp dumping site on January 30 as per orders passed by the CJM Dimapur on January 24. The pre-trial destruction was necessitated to ensure zero pilferage and misappropriation of seized liquor, according to a press note from the DCP (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur. A ‘destruction committee’ led by Public Prosecutor, Dimapur Hutoi as Chairman, senior police officers under Dimapur Commissionerate, civil society organisations, and EAC (Judicial), Dimapur were present at the site.
