Aoyimkum Village Council (AVC) constructed 15 quarantine huts for the returnees keeping a distance of 5 ft between each hut. The quarantine huts which were constructed “without any financial assistance” include all necessary facilities like attached toilet, running water, 24-hour power backup with generator. Tuensang Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) installed a rain water harvesting facility for residents of Changlangshu village, Mon and handed it over in the presence of village of functionaries on July 27. The provision was installed in order to facilitate residents with storage facility, for use during community gathering and festivals. “Residents of the village face acute shortage of water during lean patch and it is hoped that the provision will be utilized to store potable water for use on need basis,” a press note from the PRO, HQ IGAR (N) stated.
