ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) - Don Bosco, implementing SBI Foundation Gram Seva programme in Dimapur, Nagaland, celebrated International Workers Day/Labours Day by conducting mass cleanliness drive with the 5 adopted villages - Khriezephe, Diezephe, Urra, Bade and Tsithrongse. The activity was led by the village council members and the community in general.

ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) - Don Bosco, implementing SBI Foundation Gram Seva programme in Dimapur, Nagaland, celebrated International Workers Day/Labours Day by conducting mass cleanliness drive with the 5 adopted villages - Khriezephe, Diezephe, Urra, Bade and Tsithrongse. The activity was led by the village council members and the community in general.

International Workers’ Day was observed at Assisi Auditorium, Dimapur on May 1 with Sr Salomi Rongmei, Superior of Assisi campus as the speaker. Stressing on the importance of self-respect, she said, ‘work in itself does not give us respect or dignity but it is how you and I think about the work because every work is important. ‘If we carry out our job with respect then automatically people will respect us, give respect to others just as you respect yourself as we are all dependent on each other.’ The programme was compared by Vanbeni while Sr Geeta Lakra, Coordinator, Child Right Movement emphasized on the importance of the day. Altogether 40 people attended the programme.

NCC Senior Wing of St Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama under 1 Nagaland Girls’ Battalion NCC/NCC Group-Kohima visited its adopted village, Kezo Basa village on April 30. The visiting team conducted an awareness programme at the village council hall as an activity of social service and community development of NCC. The team comprised of 12 cadets, one Associate NCC Officer and one PI Staff. They were joined by Col Manjeet Katoch, CO, 1 NL Girls’ BN NCC, Kohima. Awareness talk on government schemes for rural areas was delivered by JUO Visakhono Yakhro; on Health & Hygiene by SGT Kevekhulu Thisa; and on environmental protection by CDT Ambikali Mech. The visiting team distributed application forms of government schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana to the villagers and also contributed 150 self-made bags to the village for use as marketing bag/lunch bag when they go to fields. 

The Department of Political Science and History, Unity College Dimapur organized an educational tour to North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong for MA 4th semester on April 28 and 29. Altogether, 42 students and 3 faculty members took part in the Study Tour.
