District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Mokokchung, Department of Social Welfare visited the Paediatric Department of Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital, Mokokchung on November 17 and presented sweets and food items to the children patients in the hospital. The visitation was done in observation of National Adoption Awareness month, in commemoration of Child Rights Week (November 14 to 20). Child Rights Week 2023 is themed, ‘Adoption of Older Children.’ DCPU officer, Samuel Kapu shared on the National Adoption Policy with the parents of the children admitted in the hospital. 

Commemorating Jan Jatiya Gaurav Divas, a state level debate competition on the theme, ‘Tribal Freedom Fighter’ was held at Christian Hr Sec School covenant hall, Dimapur on November 17. The debate was held on the topics ‘Ownership and Transfer of Land and its Resources under Article 371(A).’ Liang Yanna, class 10 of Little Star Hr Sec School bagged first prize while Rongsennangba, Class 12 of Little Star Hr Sec School and Avilhu Meyase, Class 12 of Holy Cross Hr Sec School won the second and third prize respectively. The event organised by Department of Tribal Affairs in collaboration with CHSS, Dimapur, was graced by Secretary Tribal Affairs, Angelina Tajen and Director Tribal Affairs, I Sino Phom. (DIPR Photo) 
The first inter school cultural day organised by Medziphema Town Students’ Union was celebrated at local ground, Medziphema on November 15. A total of 11 schools participated showcasing the cultural vibrancy of the communities of Nagaland through attire show, folk song, dance and choir competition. Merenchila Phom, Principal Govt HSS, Medziphema graced the day as the special guest. In the choir competition, St Francis Hr Sec School was adjudged as the champion, while Govt HSS School and Kind David HSS took the 2nd the 3rd place. 
The North Eastern Regional Youth Commission (NERYC) in collaboration with Indian Catholic Youth Movement North East (ICYM NE) & Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) organized two awareness campaign on ‘Reducing Drug Among Children and Adolescents’ at Baptist High Kohima and Livingstone Foundation  International School Dimapur respectively.
