The Annual Johnian Spelling Championship 2022 of St. John’s School Kohima was held on September 17 under the theme, ‘Quest for Excellent’ with Khriezolenuo Sekhose, Headmistress as guest of honour. Jongshimanen Longkumer of Class VIII son of Imliyanger Longkumer and Marmongla Imsong was declared the Johnian Spelling Master 2022 and won the coveted Reiphinyü Sekhose Ever Rolling Memorial Trophy. The award also carried a citation certificate of Johnian Spelling Master and scholarship for the year 2023. This intellectual pursuit was held under the aegis of English Department.

Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS), Kohima organized seminar sessions on mental health issues for both the students and teachers on September 15 with Veronica Nriame, Psychiatric Social Worker, District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) Kohima as the resource person. Seminar on ‘mental health issues and psychosocial management’ was organized for students of class 10 and 12. It was attended by 241 students. The teacher’s seminar was held on ‘understanding children’s mental health and stress management for teachers’. The session was attended by 61 teachers.

The Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH) has installed a new team of office bearers for tenure 2022 to 2025 with Limhathung N Yanthan as president and Oreno Ngullie as general secretary. The Lotha Hoho (LH) welcomed the new team during a farewell cum felicitation programme held at Lotha Tribal Council Conference Hall on September 17. LH, Vice Chairman, S Mhonlumo Lotha exhorted the gathering while A Yanpothung Ezung and Limathung N Yanthan, LYH outgoing and newly installed president also spoke. S Abenthung Ngullie, General Secretary, LH and Convener of LYH search committee introduced the LYH new team. The programme was chaired by Amos Odyuo, Joint Secretary, LH and Zurenthung Humtsoe, Asst. Pastor, Wokha Town Baptist Church blessed the LYH new team.

The IAS Association, Nagaland held its general body meeting at Hotel Japfü, Kohima on September 15. The Association elected its new team members with Abhijit Sinha, IAS asPresident; Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS - Vice President; Kesonyu Yhome, IAS - General Secretary; Sushil Kumar Patel, IAS -Treasurer; Temsunaro Aier- Joint Secretary. The IAS Association, Nagaland discussed pertinent administrative challenges and deliberated on the way forward to improve the public service delivery mechanism in the state of Nagaland. Altogether 26 participants attended the 2nd batch of father school for Chang Baptist Church Dimapur conducted under the ministry of Dimapur Ao Baptist Church (DABA) from September 12-15. The Chang Baptist Church Dimapur has expressed gratitude to DABA pastor, Rev Wati Kichu, resource person, Imtiakum and the stewards for their leadership and ministry rendered to the fathers.
