In a first of its kind, the Alumni Association of Dimapur Government College (DGCAA) extended scholarship in cash and in kind to deserving and needy students. The association after a screening extended the welfare fund to 12 candidates, subject to their good consistency in attendance and academic conduct. DGC Principal, Prof Sanjay Sharma thanked DGCAA for the noble gesture and setting a good example for the younger generation. DGCAA, President K Temjen Jamir attributed this initiative to their ardent social concern and love for their alma mater. 
Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department observed the Disaster Risk Reduction day at Hotel Vivor, Kohima on October 14 with Z Nyusietho Nyuthe, Advisor NSDMA as special guest. Participants consisted of invitees from Village Disaster Management Authority, Inter Agency Group and Aapda Mitra volunteers from Peren, Kohima, Zunheboto, Tseminyu, Chümoukedima and Dimapur. Keynote address was delivered by Johnny Ruangmei, Joint CEO, NSDMA, vote of thanks by Temsuwangshi Jamir, Asst Manager, Research & Planning and briefing on role of various organizations in building resilience was taken up by Khrolou Koza Lohe. Ten Integrated Tribal Development Programme (ITDP) fishery farmers along with two project staff, from Tuli, Mokokchung are on a three-day exposure visit cum training to the Aquaculture Field School of Kalong Kapili, Kamrup Metro Assam through the support of the NABARD regional office Dimapur. It is organised by Community Educational Centre Society, Dimapur. The purpose of the training is towards Strengthening the Extension Service of Sustainable Aquaculture. During training, resource person will cover a wide range of topics, such as Introduction on aquaculture and Sustainable aquaculture; Pre-stocking, Site visit, soil selection & texture suitability Assessment, water source, Pond construction, Renovation of existing drainable & undrainable pond and pond management. 
A delegation from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), led by the Director of CSIR-NEIST Jorhat, Dr G Narahari Sastry, along with senior scientists Dr Mantu Bhuyan, Dr Kalyani Medhi, and Scientist Twahira Begum, visited Unity Christian Higher Secondary School on October 10. Dr Sastry addressed the students and emphasised importance of pursuing Agricultural Science and Research. He highlighted the shortage of scientists from Nagaland in CSIR, urging students to consider careers in the scientific field. He also debunked misconceptions about scientists and stressed the need for Nagaland to nurture and produce more scientists.
A workshop on ‘financial literacy and library awareness: role of library in resource management and sharing’ was organised on October 11 at the College Auditorium by IQAC, Pfutsero Government College in collaboration with CRISIL Foundation Pfutsero and Library Department of the college for the teaching faculty, students and ministerial staff. The resource persons were WeloÜ Khalo, Librarian, PGC; Khachü Koza, Centre Manager, CFL Pfutsero, CRISIL Foundation; Job Koza, Field Coordinator, Kikruma, CFL Pfutsero, CRISIL Foundation; Vietshote Koza, Field Coordinator, Chizami, CFL Pfutsero, CRISIL Foundation; Vevosalü Kotso, DEO, CFL, Pfutsero, CRISIL Foundation.
