Phek town gets facelift in view of the upcoming 50th Anniversary celebration of Phek district, scheduled for December 21 at Phek Town.
The Department of Tenydie, Nagaland University Kohima Campus organised the launching programme of the book ‘Nhane’ on December 15. During the event, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Jagadish K Patnaik officially released the book; Dr Petekhrienuo Sorhie, Head of the Department, presented the introduction of the book; Dr Metuo Liezietsu chaired the programme; Dr Khruvolu said the invocation and the event concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Mimi K Ezung.
A National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Indian Army is visiting Kolkata. On December 15, the NIT participants interacted with the Governor, Dr CV Ananda Bose at Bengal Raj Bhavan at Kolkata. During the visit, Governor interacted with the participants. The NIT is being conducted under Operation Sadbhavana for 20 students of Loyala Higher Secondary School, Zakhama from December 13 to 22. The NIT tour was flagged-off on December 13 from Rangapahar Military Station by GOC, 3 Corps
DMI St Joseph Global School, Dimapur celebrated its Annual Day cum Advent Christmas at the open ground on December 15. Principal Director, School Education & CEO, State Health Authority Thavaseelan K IAS was the chief guest. Dr C Maria Nathan, Principal outlaid the annual report. The event showcased the student’s talents and skills in various forms such as drama, dance, song, play, and many more. 
M Venkatesan, Chairman, National Commission for Safai Kamcharis along with DC Peren Vineet Kumar IAS during the meeting held at DC conference hall, Peren on December 16. DC Peren in a keynote address said informed the official that wages of the employees is adjusted from the town council revenue on fixed pay basis and the workers are issued items such as hand gloves, masks and jacket for their safety in their workplace.
