Refresher training on Routine Immunization for DPM, DCM, BPMs, BACs, VCCM, Vaccinators, Nurses and BCG Technician was held at the conference hall, CMO office, Longleng on March 17. A press release from Angshom Chemdok Media Officer, CMO office Longleng updated that the resource persons were Dr Imtijungshi DPO (RCH/UIP), Dr James Phom Medical Officer, Dr Banglau Phom Medical Officer and Christina VCCM. The session aimed to equip healthcare workers with the skills in improving the efficiency of Immunization services. 

In compliance with the Order of the Gauhati High Court in WP (C) 9/2028, the Committee for the State of Nagaland led by its Chairman Imtiangshi Ao, Inspector General Prisons and its members C Motsuthung Yanthan, DIG Prisons and Neiko Akami, Member Secretary, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority visited the Peren District Jail on March 17 to evaluate inmate conditions, infrastructure, legal aid services and medical support. The Committee was accompanied by Secretary, Peren District Legal Services Authority, WV Patton and her team along with Superintendent, Peren District Jail Aonochet. Key recommendations of the committee included the shifting of the Jail to the New Headquarter, Peren where the land has already been allotted for construction of a new Jail facility. 
A farmer-scientist interaction-cum-technology distribution programme was organised by ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Eastern Regional Station, Kolkata in collaboration with College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Jalukie on March 18 on campus under the ICAR-IVRI NEH Scheme. Dr K Mahesh Singh, Asst Prof, CVSc&AH, Jalukie delivered the welcome address followed by address of Dr B Mondal, Principal Scientist, representing Dr Arnab Sen, Head, ICAR-IVRI ERS, Kolkata, and Dr I Shakuntala, Dean, CVSc&AH, Jalukie.Three lectures on Selection of Improved Breeds for Profitable Livestock Farming, Goat Rearing & Management, and Pig Rearing & Management were delivered respectively by Dr K Mahesh Singh, Dr T Gyaneshori Devi, and Dr Imtiwati, Asst Prof, CVSc&AH, Jalukie. The programme concluded with the distribution of 60 piglets, 40 kids and 100 bags feed to 53 farmers.

North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Peace Centre, Chümoukedima in collaboration with the Chümoukedima District Users Network, Peace Channel and MSW Community Development Specialization of NEISSR observed World Social Work Day 2025 at Bishop Abraham Memorial Hall on March 18. The event also marked the official launch of the 'Drug-Free Campaign' under the theme Empowering Children and Youth for a Drug-Free Nagaland. The resource persons were NeliKoso and Ninoto Chishi from the Chümoukedima District Users Network, who shared their personal experiences. NEISSR was officially declared a drug-free, alcohol-free, and tobacco-free campus. 
Department of Economics, Nagaland University, commenced a three-day workshop on “Application of Statistical Software and AI in Social Science Research” on March 17. The workshop was inaugurated in the presence of the Chief Patron, Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University and Patron, Prof MK Sinha, Dean, School of Social Sciences. The first day of the workshop featured Dr Saurabh Agarwal, Professor of Machine Learning & Data Analytics at HBTU Kanpur, Consultant & Trainer for IBM and UNESCO. 
Department of Geography, Nagaland University conducted a two-day national seminar on “Application of geospatial techniques for environmental sustainability in Northeast India” on March 17 and 18. Prof BS Mipun, retired Professor from NEHU and currently serving as the Dean, RSEES & DSW at Assam Royal Global University delivered the keynote speech on “Application of Geospatial Technology for Effective Sustainable Development Strategies.” Prof DK Nayak, retired Professor from NEHU and currently serving as Professor at Assam Royal Global University spoke in the technical session on the topic “The Road to Sustainable Development: Limits to Geospatial Technology”. The Chief Patron for the seminar was Prof Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor of Nagaland University. A total of 32 presentations were made over the two days. It was attended by 90 participants from across the country, both offline and online mode.
Department of History in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), St Joseph University, Chümoukedima conducted a start-up programme on idea showcase on Experts for Mentorship Support on a theme “NOT SELL BUT EXCEL” with Sedeneino, founder of Sede Blue Tea and The Gifthub Tea Corner as guest speaker on March 18. The session began with the captivating life story of the speaker who presented her life journey demonstrating the power of resilience, willpower, and hard work via her experiences. Her talk covered a wide range of topics including entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation and personal growth. She shared her insights on her small start-up business on green tea business aiming not to sell but to empower several other businesses to strive. 
The Excise personnel of Narcotic Cell, Mobile Squad and Dimapur District Excise in its continued effort to eradicate sale of illegal liquor conducted raids on various localities in and around Dimapur Town. In the course of the operation, approximately 1776 bottles (108 cases) of various brands of IMFL were seised by Excise duty personnel. A total of 57 persons were arrested and penalized as per appropriate sections of the NLTP Act. The Department has cautioned that it will continue on its lookout for violators and also appeals to all public to provide information related to illicit liquor trade.
