Orange grows in kitchen garden at Rüsoma village in Kohima district. Rüsoma Orange Festival 2024 has been scheduled for January 24- 25 at Rüsoma village. Rüsoma lies about 8 km away from Nagaland’s state capital Kohima. The orange festival aims to give exposure to the orange growers to outsiders from their home settings and to intensify orange farming for economic prosperity. Around 50 families associate with orange farming in the village. (Morung Photo)
Pangti village under Wokha district celebrated a combined Christmas, hosted by Pangti Plus (outsider married to Pangti village). Five denominations namely; Baptist, Catholic, Assembly of God, Seven Days Evangelical and NCRC Church from the village feasted together after Christmas service. Pangti Plus for the first time hosted the combined Christmas feast celebration where O Mozamo Ngullie, convener core committee in his greetings message informed that the idea was to bring unity, a get-together among the Pangti family members far and near. The theme speaker was Rev RP Murry.
Hutokhu Awomi, Class -I Contractor graced the Phisami Students Union 64th session as special guest on December 28. In his address, Awomi stress that the students should fear God first and also strictly maintain time and discipline. He also spoke on importance of prioritizing culture and language as part of one’s identity.
