The department of Health & Family Welfare bade farewell to Principal Director, Dr Temjentsungla and Joint Director, Dr Obangjungla on February 1. Y Kikheto Sema (IAS), Commissioner & Secretary, HF&W, Nagaland graced the programme. During the programme he also initiated to hand over the official order of incoming Principal Director Dr Vibeituonuo Mepfuo which was handed over by outgoing Principal Director. The programme was chaired by Dr Ritu Thurr, Mission Director NHM, citation & presentation by Dr Vibeituonuo Mepfuo Incoming Principal Director, invocation prayer by Dr Thomas Keppen Deputy Director, special song by Miakhriehu Yhome UDA and benediction by Dr Bendangtula Deputy Director (AYUSH).
National Anti-Leprosy Day awareness campaign under National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) was held at the CMO Office Zunheboto with a vision to join hands for a Leprosy free Nagaland. Dr K Akaho Sema, Dy CMO launched the campaign under the theme ‘united for dignity’ and highlighted the significance of leprosy and encouraged the staffs under NLEP to be active and regular in their field visits so that leprosy does not re-emerge again though it has been eradicated from the district. “Leprosy is completely curable and early treatment prevents disability. Department of Mathematics, St Joseph University, Dimapur organised its first ‘Erudite’ annual programme, a two-day technical festival and talent show on January 31 and February 1. The inaugural function was attended by Dr K Sethupathy Registrar, Dr I Arockia Mary ME Dean of Administration, Dr Kinitoli H Yeptho, Dean of Academics, Rev Fr Anish PRO; Dr P Mercy, HOD Mathematics, faculty members, audience and over 200 students. The festival events were exhibition (model), chess competition and quiz competition.
