
The World No Tobacco Day 2023 was observed at Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur on May 31 with an awareness and sensitization programme for students and teachers. It was conducted by the Indian Dental Association, Nagaland State Branch in collaboration with the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP), Health & Family Welfare Department, Nagaland. The guest speaker, Dr Thungbeni Ngullie, Dental Surgeon from Crown Dental Care and Lab, Dimapur called upon the students to be aware of the adverse effects of tobacco and to keep oneself away from such bad habits as it has a huge impact on not only the user but also on his family, spouse, relatives and friends. St Joseph University (SJU) Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with Indian Dental Association, Nagaland Branch observed World Anti-Tobacco Day at the university on May 31. A team of altogether six members from IDA Nagaland Branch led by Dr Kaketo, dental surgeon and Proprietor, Beyond Smile Clinic visited the university. Dr Karisma, Pedodontist, Beyond Smile Clinic stressed on the adverse effect tobacco consumers are bound to face as the person ages and she shared some very useful tips how to quit tobacco usage and explained the advantages thereof besides advantages of maintaining a healthy dental life was explained in a very orderly manner.
