
DPC, KPC, NPA offer condolences
Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): The Dimapur Press Club (DPC), Kohima Press Club (KPC) and Nagaland Press Association (NPA) have condoled the demise of Waitola, mother of Moa Longkumer, News Editor of Nagaland Page and former President of DPC. The DPC extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed “to the Almighty for strength for the family members to bear this loss and for comfort and peace in this difficult time.” KPC also extended sincere condolences to the bereaved family members and offered prayers that the Almighty will grant them solace. In a condolence note, NPA said, “We are deeply sorry for your loss. We wish you and your family courage and peace during this time of mourning. We also pray to Almighty God to grant peace to the departed soul to rest in peace.”
ZSU-A condemns destruction of NSF office
Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Assam, (ZSU-A) stated that it is distressed over the destruction of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) office at Kohima. Condemning the act, ZSU-A in a press release said that such activities will not be tolerated. Those miscreants involved in vandalizing the NSF Office on May 27, should be punished as per law, it demanded. ZSU-A has also appealed to the Government of Nagaland to look into the matter seriously to bring satisfaction justice. Further, it extended support and solidarity to NSF.
Committee of Privileges meeting
Kohima, June 2 (MExN): Moatoshi Longkumer, MLA and Chairman of the Committee of Privileges Nagaland Legislative Assembly has convened an Introductory Meeting of the Committee of Privileges on June 5 at 2:00 pm in the Committee Room of the Assembly Secretariat. Members of the Committee have been requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting as scheduled.
HSTUK new team announced
Kohima, June 2 (MExN): The High School Traders Union Kohima (HSTUK) has announced its new team of office bearers for the tenure 2023-2025. President-Kezha Miachieo, Vice President-Aphreo Kratsütsu, General Secretary-Thejangulie Linyü, Treasurer- Kevitatuo Kesiezie, Finance Secretary-Kekhrie Kelio, Information & Publicity Secretary-Khriezo Tsiekha, Action Committee Convener-Zeu Suokhrie, Committee members-Seyie Dzüvichü and Keneizhalie Mere. Diethonguzo Miachieo and Kevisetuo Suokhrie have been inducted as advisor.

Phek: Committee to check illegal activities
Phek, June 2 (MExN): DC Phek Kumar Ramnikant IAS, in an office order dated June 1, 2023 has informed that a committee consisting of government agencies and other stakeholders has been constituted to control the prevailing random checking and harassment of business establishments by unauthorized organizations in and around Phek town. Therefore, such illegal activities have been restricted with immediate effect.
Rehabilitation centres informed
Kohima, June 2 (MExN): All NGOs intending to set up Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA), Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS), and Integrated Programme for Senior Citizen/Older Person (IPSRC/IPOP) in the State are to register with the Directorate of Social Welfare for monitoring of activities of the NGOs through the Deputy Commissioner. This is in follow up to the Multi-Disciplinary GIA Committee meeting held on January 31, 2023, stated a DIPR report.
