In view of the scheduled visit of Governor of Nagaland to Tening for inauguration of hostel at Jadonang Heraka School, Tening, a meeting was held by Deputy Commissioner Peren, Hiazu Meru with officers from various departments at DC’s office, Peren on March 12. Discussions focused on ensuring seamless coordination and arrangement for execution of the Governor’s visit to Tening on March 20. Special instructions and various tasks were also assigned to different departments during the meeting. The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police, Peren; Commandant, 9th Assam Rifles, Jalukie; Chief Medical Officer, Peren; Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Peren; Officer-in-charge, Fire & Emergency Services, Peren; Urban Development Officer, Peren; Station Superintendent, NST, Peren and District Public Relations Officer, Peren. Mount Tiyi College, Wokha organised the Art and Literary Day 2025 on the theme “Unleashing the Potential Within” on March 11. The event featured six competitions including story writing, painting, extempore speech, quiz, character costume contest and solo singing. Dr Khyopenthung Tsopoe, Associate Professor, in his speech emphasised that education extends beyond the mere acquisition of degrees. Dr Bweyhunle Khing, Principal of MTC Wokha, presented certificates and prizes to the winners. 
Lieutenant Wanmai Kheang, son of KL Nyamnyei and Bejem Konyak of Changlangshu village, Mon district, and an alumnus of G Rio Higher Secondary School, Kohima, has been commissioned into the Indian Army. Having successfully completed his cadet training, he has been granted the rank of Lieutenant on March 8 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, stated a press release issued by Media Cell, Dy CMO (Home). The Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Y Patton, extended his congratulations stating, “Lieutenant Kheang’s achievement brings pride not only to his family but also to the people of Nagaland. His dedication, discipline, and perseverance in reaching this milestone will serve as an encouragement to many young individuals who aspire to serve the nation.”
A team of 20 senior IAS officers from 10 states visited the Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, Sovima as part of the 126th Induction Training Programme (ITP) on March 11. A session on technical knowledge and the significance on bamboo in the resource sector was conducted by Dr Tolto Metha, Member, NBM-IT.
