A seminar addressing substance abuse was conducted in Mokokchung by Department of Social Welfare, on November 9 bringing together key stakeholders, including the Child Care Institutions (CCI), District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Child Welfare Committee, JJB and SJPU of Mokokchung district. Dr T Amongla, Principal, People’s College Mokokchung as the resource person delivered a presentation on the identification and mitigation of substance abuse. ADC Mokokchung Chumlamo Hamtsoe highlighted the shared responsibility in combating substance abuse and fostering a healthier, safer environment in the district.

An awareness programme on ‘substance abuse’ was organised by Department of Social Welfare at Peren on November 9. The seminar targeted various child care institute such as DCPU, Child Line, Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board. ARK Foundation Director, Ketho Angami delivered on understanding on addiction. The aspect of the prevention and management of substance abuse providing valuable inside into tackling this prevalent issues were discussed. He accentuated they need to delve deeper, and avoid casting blame on addiction without understanding the root cause of their dependence. He also underscored the urgency to ramp up effort against drug related drug challenged. 
Nagaland Bio-Resources Mission (NBRM) GoN, Chairman Wanphong Konyak along with her NBRM team member & Incharge of Phek District Keneiluoii Dzuvichu, visited the in-situ Conservation at Khasozi, Sakraba Village of Phek district on November 11. The conservation site is preserved for its medicinal availability and is maintained under the NBRM by the Sakraba village led by Nierayi D Vadeo, Mission Progressive Farmer, Phek district.
The Department of Mathematics, St Joseph’s college (A) Jakhama in collaboration with the Commission for Education, Diocese of Kohima (CEDOK), organised the second All Nagaland State Level Math Quiz Competition for class 10 students on November 11. Altogether 14 schools participated in the competition. The first prize (Rs 25000) was awarded to Ankush Chakraborty and Pabitra Deb of Holy Cross Hr Sec School, Dimapur; second prize (Rs 20000) to Nukshirenla Kichu and Niamkoi. K of Dainty Buds School, Kohima; third prize (Rs 15000) to Zayievito Pucho and Lorhezo Koso of St Joseph Hr Sec School, Viswema. They were also awarded certificates. 
Jishnu Barua, Chairperson, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission called on Nagaland Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs KG Kenye during his recent visit to Kohima on November 11. The Chairperson also meet State Chief Secretary J Alam and Commissioner & Secretary (Power) Asangla Imti and also discussed on Regulatory Aspects of Power Sector with Khose Sale, Chairman, Nagaland Electricity Regulatory Commission during the visit.
