The Department of History St Joseph University conducted field immersion for the UG III semester students on October 24. The coordinators were Dr Avinuo Chupuo, Hod, Department of History, and V Shinatoli Shohe, Assistant Professor, Department of History, SJU. Altogether 63 students participated in the educational trip to Khonoma village, the first green village in India.
Gorkha Students’ Union Dimapur conducted the induction programme (2023-2026) under the aegis of Dimapur Gorkha Union was held at Tourist Lodge Dimapur on October 23. Some of the GSUD Executives and Members include Chief Advisor-Rahul Chetri; Advisor-Sunil Limbu; President- Imnatula Chetri; Vice President- Deepak Rai; General Secretary-Cimon Sharma; Asst. General Secretary-Nikato Tamang; Sports Secretary-Sushil Gurung & Prakash Shrestha; Cultural Secretary: Roshan Pradhan & Bishnu Adhikari; Finance Secretary: Anjana Limbu; Literary Secretary: Tiajungla Chetri; and Media Convenor: Gobind Pradhan.MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero undertook a touring programme to his constituency (16 Pfutsero) on October 19. Dr Mero along with the elders and leaders visited and inspected the ongoing 2-lane projects and interacted with the NHIDCL officials for proper and timely implementation. He visited ADC, PWD, Soil, Beat Forest offices. During the visits to educational institutions and medical centres under Pfutsero Sub-Division, he had interaction with the HoDs and staffs while also taking a special note on their grievances and needs. The Senjum Baptist Church, Youth Department held a spiritual youth camp from October 17-19 at Life Spring Corner, on the theme, ‘The likeness of Christ’ (Romans 8:29). Chenithung Shitiri, Director, All Christian Fellowship and Roland T Ngullie, Pastor SBC were the theme speakers during the three-day event. Also, two-day bible study sessions were held under the topic ‘Sin’ and ‘Repentance’ by Sulanthung Yanthan, Associate Pastor SBC & Roland T Ngullie, Pastor SBC. Jethro Merry and Dr Rhontsuthung Ovung were the resource persons on the topics ‘Worship’ and ‘Health Awareness ‘ respectively. Power Praise led praise & worship songs. Altogether 56 youths turned up to witness the youth camp event, a press release stated.
