As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, cadets from Sainik School Punglwa conducted a cleanliness drive at Punglwa B village on September 19. The initiative, which coincided with the school’s regular weekly club activity held every Friday, saw participation from 21 NCC cadets, 28 Eco Club members, and 5 staff members.
A training programme for key personnel of the ELEMENT, Nagaland Project commenced at the conference hall of the NGIS & RSC, Kohima on September 23. The session is designed for District Coordinators, experts from Project Facilitating Agencies (PFAs), and Zonal Management Units (ZMUs). The training will focus on geospatial applications, Monitoring & Evaluation formats, and the Environmental and Social Management Framework, with a specific emphasis on the Grievance Redressal Mechanism under ELEMENT, Nagaland Project.The 10th Ayurveda Day was observed in Meluri with a walkathon organized by the Community Health Centre (CHC) on September 23. The event was led by Dr Visinuo Nyusou, Medical Officer (Ayush) at CHC Meluri, in collaboration with students from the Government Higher Secondary School, Meluri. With the theme, ‘Ayurveda for People & Planet,’ the observance highlighted the role of Ayurveda in promoting holistic health and sustainable living.Centre for Naga Tribal Language Studies, Nagaland University organised workshop on Language Revitalisation in North-East India with resource person Dr Vijay A. D’Souza, Director, North East Institute of Language and Culture, Guwahati, Assam on September 23. Dr D’ Souza delivered three sessions on Language Endangerment: What it is and why one should be bothered about it, Language Revitalisation as both hope and despair and finally drawing on his own extensive experience working and aiding in the revitalisation of the Hrusso Aka language. The workshop was attended by scholars, faculty, and community members from all over Nagaland.
