CHILDLINE 1098 Peren conducted a Cleanliness Drive at Deputy Commissioner Complex, New Peren on October 11. During the day-long drive, issues were addressed on waste management, disposal of garbage by the Collab Director Akeina Gonmei and Development Secretary, Rongmei Baptist Association Nagaland followed by cleaning of bus stops, parking lot, administrative block and public areas. The team also donated buckets, mugs and other materials to the Administration. Sentiwapang Aier, Deputy Commissioner, Peren expressed gratitude to CHILDLINE 1098 Peren and Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services, Peren for the event and its success. ATMA Mangkolemba block inaugurated a farm school on Arecanut plantation at Khar village under Mokokchung District on October 4. Resource person for the programme was Alemnungla ATM, ATMA who trained the farmers on nursery management and its benefits on intercropping with different crops such as coffee, cardamom, banana, black pepper and betel vine. Its alternative uses as disposal plates from the dried leaf sheet compose from the leaves were also taught. The programme was led by Limawapangla, BTM. ATMA Zunheboto organized training on “Techniques and uses of bio pesticides in organic agriculture” on October 11 under “Implementation of extension activities through agripreuners (ACABC)” at Sastami Village under Akuluto Block. The programme was chaired by Kaiho Achumi, ATM Akuhaito Block, who stated the importance of bio-pesticides and how they can be favorable to farmers who do not favor chemical usage. It will also help in achieving protection of organic agriculture products even during infestation due to pests and disease.
